Sport clips are what you would call a spa for men and boys. Inside a sport clips there are sport playing on every television set, it is a fun, laid back environment not only for employees but also for clients, and every stylist is specialized and efficient in haircut for men and boys. They are a corporate franchise, they are also the only national hair care chain that is targeting the over 140,000,000 men and boys market. The purpose of writing this paper is to discuss the four managerial functions what they are and how they affect Sport Clips and how it is run on a daily basis. The four managerial functions of a business are planning, organizing, leading and controlling. They are committed to their values, standards and goals. They have values, also known as their mission statement, heart of a champion and three key questions. Sport clips mission statement is as stated in the store manual “To create a Championship haircut experience for men and boys, in an exciting sport environment. Sport clips want nothing more than to grow as a team because of their clients. Sport clips are an organization that is extremely client and stylist oriented, well managed, as well as organized and cared for. More importantly Sport clips are also prepared for their company to be even more profitable with a great amount of growth in the coming years, than they already have been in prior years.

If a stylist’s numbers aren’t meeting their goals, not just for a week, but for weeks on end, then the manager needs to sit down with the stylists individually to talk about how they can hit their numbers. As stated before each store has a monthly meeting, normally it consists of all the stylists, assistant managers and team leaders as well as the franchise owners. At these meetings numbers, store goals, new products and ideas are discussed. Based on business in previous years, the general manager has a report, and that is how she creates the schedule. Each day there are an allotted number of total hours that can be scheduled. That in turn helps the budgeting process. Sport Clips also budgets based on what numbers we have hit as a store in each pay period.
