BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD

There were three Beings in existence who were before the foundation of the world. God the Father, God the Son, the Word (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit. They are comprised of the Godhead. In addition, they are separate Beings; yet, they are one in purpose, in righteousness, and in deity.

However, our omniscient (all-knowing) God knew beforehand that mankind would disobey Him and His only concern was with the redemption of man – Genesis 3 – Revelation 22:21. Therefore, through His creation, God began working in the affairs of men to bring about His plan of how man could live with Him forever, provided man accepted His terms.

Still, God’s eternal purpose would be accomplished through His Son Jesus Christ, who was before the foundation of the world – John 1:1, 17:5. He had no beginning – Hebrews 7:3, who was before Abraham – John 8:58, and is eternally the same – Hebrews 13:8.

THE CREATION

“In the beginning” God spoke this universe into existence – Genesis 1:1-19. Next, He began placing life on the earth. He created plant life first; then fish, birds, and land animals, according to its kind – Genesis 1:20-25. Afterwards, God created man. “Let us make man Man in our image” – Genesis 1:26. Consequently, God has given each one of us a unique soul (spiritual) that will never cease to exist.

Along with His creation, God placed the first man and woman; Adam and Eve, in a garden full of beauty that had direct companionship with Him – Genesis 3:8. Every desirable plant was there. In addition, there was an abundance of food and the Garden of Eden was very large with four rivers, which ran through it. Adam and Eve had direct access to the Tree of Life, in which God said they would never die. It was i...

...ld his descendants would be made a great nation – Genesis 12:2, through your seed all families of the earth would be blessed – Genesis 12:3, 22:18, and they would inherit the land of Canaan – Genesis 15:18. God renewed His promise to Abraham, once at Beth-al – Genesis 13:14-17 and twice at Hebron – Genesis 15:7, 18; 17:1-2, 8. In so doing, The Gospel was preached to Abraham first and the apostle Paul revealed that the “seed” is Christ - Galatians 3:8, 16.

Up until this point, God had only revealed a small part of His plan for man’s redemption. Christ (the seed) would come and triumph over Satan – Genesis 3:15. Also, He will come from the nation composed of the descendants of Abraham, and that all nations will be blessed by His coming - Genesis 12:2-3. This seed line from Adam to Christ is the thread that connects history to God’s Eternal Plan of redemption for man.
