Football is the most popular sport in America and also the ninth most popular sport in the world for a reason. Football has had a severe impact on many people’s lives. Football teaches unique lessons in a hands on manner. The sport helps athletes like myself sustain a much more adventurous life and it teaches them vital life lessons. Football has had an immeasurably positive influence upon my life, but the sport has it dangers. Football changes lives. Football can change your life in either a positive or negative way. Injuries are quite prevalent in the sport and that is a risk I take every practice and game. According to CNN, in 2014 there was accounted to be eleven deaths related to football injuries. One specific person who has been negatively Football has provided me with some of my best friends stretching all across the DMV. Football helped teach me many important life lessons. The sport has taught me the importance of teamwork because football is like a machine if one gear or player fails to do their designed job the function of the machine or the play will not be successful. It has taught me the importance of giving all the effort I can every single play. As a right tackle, I have one of the most important jobs on the field my job is to protect the quarterback and created holes for the running back to run through. If I fail in doing my job one single play the quarterback or running back can become seriously injured and so I need to give up body throughout all types of pain to ensure their safety. You are unknowing which play it could be so you need to do your job every time. Offensive lineman like myself do not receive the credit we deserve, but I do it anyways because I enjoy it. Football has taught me the lesson of perseverance because freshman year I played freshman football and was not very good. Through constant effort, practice and studying I was able to become the second team right tackle sophomore year and through more exertion I am now starting at right tackle on the varsity team.
