The food industry in this day and age is a vicious cycle, built to take our money in exchange for another meal on our belts, literally. Successfully profitable corporations made the decision to replace the quality of their product with the amount of profit made by selling us
“cost efficient” goods that benefits their bank accounts, but not our health. The cycle impacts not only our health, but the temperature of the Earth and other countries. It can be prevented or even stopped. But only the government has the power and influence necessary to change anything, and as soon as someone with enough power is convinced to pass a law or suggest passing a law to their superiors, the companies that would be affected by this modification immediately respond by hiring lawyers to ensure that they maintain their monopoly over our lives. The government has to be able to overrule their objections and do what is best for the American people, not the American businesses.
One of my neighbors suffered kidney failure and unfortunately died even after a rigorous bout of treatments. Why, because he was overweight and ate what is infamously known as the “Western diet” which consists of lots of red meat, fat, sugar, salt, and oil. This is very apparent in the processed food we see occupying two thirds of our local grocery stores. ...ss, affordability, and acceptability” Source 7. People may have access to the food, but they may not be aware of what to eat and what not to eat. Or they may just love junk food so much they can’t stop eating it. And, most concerning of all, they might just not care. So, how can we get people to care? Well, by doing what I am doing right now, informing people about what is at stake. People are already beginning to realize they must do something about this problem. Take pokemon go for example, the producers have incorporated a seemingly boring, healthy activity (walking), into the world of pokemon. But, as I said before, these miniscule changes will not have much of an effect, the world government must be created first. And, sadly enough, eventually, one way or another, we will resolve this issue, and then another will reveal itself, because it is all a vicious cycle.
