The government must enact stronger codes to stop the poisoning of its people. Because of these chemicals we eat daily, it is no wonder that cancer rates are rising. According to the American Cancer Society, more than 8 million people are expected to die of cancer worldwide this year, but this number is only expected to grow (Rising Global Cancer Epidemic). As a world leader, the United States must start taking initiative on stopping this massive growth at one of it’s biggest sources: the food we eat. We spend billions and billions of dollars fighting wars overseas, so we must also be willing to fight the ongoing battle with chemicals going on inside our bodies.
