All my life I have been an optimistic person, believing in the half glass full concept and things happens for a reason. My friends and my loved one can attest to that, that I have a positive outlook on things and am the kind of person that tends to go with the flow. Optimism has been a really big help in my life to get me to where I am today, finding the silver lining in things that others think could not be there. Always having a positive attitude whenever possible, not only for myself but to encourage my friends and family when they need a pick me up to make it through the rest of the day. Before attending Bergen Community College, I attended another school where I had a very negative experience and things did not go according to how I thought they would. In this school I signed up for a major that I was so excited for. While in attendance things were not as great as they seemed, I found out that the school was mainly there to take advantage of unbeknownst students like myself thinking that they were going to be getting a fabulous career in the major that they have slaved their time, energy, and money to achieve. Although the teachers where great the administration was not, they were money hungry and that was their first priority over anything else I do understand that it is a business but learning and teaching should be above all else. After hearing this it may come to mind how does one find the silver lining or the good in a situation like this? Well experiencing this it allowed me to pursue a different career and helped me to understand how the financial aid process works and the right questions to ask so not only would I or anyone would be pulled into this luring web and trapping someone else. Although I have a big student loan, I am starting fresh here at Bergen and leaving the past
