Cancer is a major issue in our country today due to it being incurable, and it’s one of the leading causes of death in the U.S. I’ve been personally affected by this tragic disease by losing my uncle to colorectal cancer when I was twelve. This disease has caused significant loss of life; therefore, it is my goal to join a team that has a focus on finding a cure for cancer. Specifically, I will become a physician in order to become a part of the solution to cancer.
Being a physician is an extremely demanding and intense career, for it requires one to have a desire to help people, be able to withstand pressure, and have long hours of medical education and practice. Physicians must be able to take a lot of responsibility. Fortunately, I have taken a lot of responsibility by being a role model for my little sister. As a young child, my little sister and I were always home alone due to my parents working double shifts every day. My mother dropped out of Baltimore City Community College in order to become a nurse; thus, she must work long hours in order to attain a sustainable amount of ...
