If you have watched the film Fight Club in regards to the early 1990’s and it’s American Consumerism it has a major effect on the countries early audiences which are males between 15 and 34 primarily all white. This led to a huge problem and was considered a controversial film. A film that would impact the world and the society in which people lived in leading to a public response. The huge question towards fight club is if the society would allow such in tolerant actions and if it’s possible to be controversial over the actions of rebellion. Fight Club has nothing to do with revolution but it is about the impossibility of it. This film criticizes the corporations and media and even pushes to criticize any big organizations looking to react against them. When the term Project Mayhem is introduced you noticed that a disorganized number or chaos, a group of men all wearing the same clothes chanting in unison in an anarchy way. The idea of individualism is terminated which is a major attribute of any revolution. For example fascism, communism or whatever idea you can think of. Some can argue that in this film the idea of individualism as it in introduced to us growing up is not the same but it’s a homogenization of the self, which is served to benefit the powers. This of it like this, you have the option to choose out of the two cars a land rover or a range rover. That is your freedom right there. This film helps open up the eyes of all values leading to individualism and has a strange complex with the main character and his different personality disorders. Fight club focuses on the ideas and the values of anyone who has power and those that are seeking to rebel against it.

In conclusion to this analysis of these characters they go together where the resolve is Jack coming to the conclusion that he had truly taken his life threw a complete twist and in all seriousness didn’t want to experience being Tyler. What was seen there this analysis that Tyler was a real person and Jack was very jealous and everyone around wanted to be like him. Jack eventually grew as a man and wanted to use everything he experience to help mold him as an individual. They way in which he commanded at the end of the movie by shooting himself giving complete orders to the guys in project mayhem that this is something that Jack would have done. To us as an audience you can tell that they he has grown through the movie and took complete ownership.
In the film Fight Club, the political message being relayed through the scenes if of the government keeping its citizens under control. Susan Bordo explains,
“In philosophy, or religion, or ethics, or politics, two and two might make five, but when one was designing a gun or an aeroplane they had to make four” (Orwell 250). Winston lives in a time where a set of rules preventing him to be free are imposed on him – the Party defines what freedom is and is not. “Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows (Orwell 103)”. Winston expresses his views on The Party within his diary even though he knows it is not accepted by The Party or the Thought Police. The narrator in Fight Club uses fighting as a form of escapism from his anti-consumerist ideologies revealed by his alter-ego, Tyler Durden. “Fuck off with your sofa units and strine green stripe patterns. I say never be complete, I say stop being perfect, I say let’s evolve—let the chips fall where they may. (Fight Club)” Tyler urges the narrator to stop conforming to consumerist-imposed views of perfection and break barriers to evolve. Tyler and the narrator create a medium for people in similar positions to escape from societal bound norms; it is aptly named “Fight Club”. The fight club exists because individuals get weighted down by possessions causing them to miss the deep meaning of life. Most of the people in the fight club hold service jobs or lower level management jobs that are meaningless. Society becomes so rationalized that one must push themeself to the extreme in order to feel anything or accomplish anything.
Despite its disappointing delivery, Fight Club remains a classic film because of its overall theme. It insists a meaningless life will lead to destruction, though perhaps not as extreme as the creating of a fight club. No matter how hard the protagonist tries to adjust in society by their rules, he is left miserable and incomplete. He says, “This is your life and it's ending one minute at a time.” And, “It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything.” The purpose of this film is to free the audience from roles of society and insecurities so that one can truly live, an eternal and universal truth.

These words are from Chuck Palahniuk's novel Fight Club. Tyler Durden is the alter ego, and only known name of the fictional narrator of the novel. Tyler suffers from Dissociative Personality Disorder, Antisocial Personality Disorder, Primary Insomnia, and probably a host of other disorders that I am not qualified to properly diagnose.

According to Fight Club, Tyler has found his masculine identity and the members of Fight Club are able to do this as well by enduring the pain of Fight Club and not conforming to society’s standards. When one is not tied down to material items and possessions to define them, they see their true identity. This masculinity defined by Fight Club is the theory that freedom comes from having nothing; thereby men are liberated by society’s confines, most specifically the male American Dream.
David Flincher's movie, Fight Club, shows how consumerism has caused the emasculation of the modern male and reveals a tale of liberation from a corporate controlled society. Society's most common model of typical man is filthy, violent, unintelligent, immature, sexist, sex hungry, and fundamentally a caveman. In essence Tyler Durden, is the symbolic model for a man. He is strong enough to withstand from society's influences and his beliefs to remain in tact. Jack, the narrator, on the other hand is the opposite. He is a weak, squeamish, skinny man who has not been able to withstand society's influence; therefore, he is the Ikea fetish. Unlike Tyler, Jack is weak minded. Both Jack and Tyler are polar opposite models of men in society's masculinity scale.
Within the past few millennia, people have socially evolved away from the aggressive, deep-rooted nature they have been biologically programmed over the past million years to feel (Palahniuk 4). While most have embraced this approach, whether it be through religion or other means, many people, mostly men, feel this suppression is unhealthy and unnatural. Chuck Palahniuk's Fight Club, a transgressional piece of fiction, was set in a world of parental abandonment, womanly men, and corrupt political and corporate practices, a dark, nameless city in modern day America (Palahniuk 28). This setting allows for the author to provide a stark comparison over what we have become as a nation compared to what we should be, a nation of self-respecting people with a lack of value on materialistic things, and a push towards Buddhist principles (Reed). Fight Club is about how feminism, commercialism, religion, and politics in modern day America have caused a decline in the masculinity of American, middle-class men and how that has destroyed society as heavily demonstrated by the support group he attends, the fight club he helps start, the terrorist group that sprouts from this, and the Narrator's second personality (Tuss).
Pulp Fiction is like boot camp for the Marines. You come into it from your civilized life, they subject you to violent language until you're numb, they abuse you verbally and physically until all of your normal feelings and values are reduced to dust. Leaving you aware that you have changed, and able to describe the change, you find yourself questioning the person you were previously. First thing you know you're saluting. This story is a cleverly disorienting journey through a landscape of danger, shock, hilarity, and vibrant local color. Nothing is predictable or familiar within this irresistibly bizarre world. You do not merely enter a theater to see Pulp Fiction: you go down a rabbit hole.
When I first laid eyes on the list of films we were required to choose from for this writing assignment, my attention was instantly captured by the addition of one of my favorite films, Fight Club. Can this be real? Am I really about to write a paper on a film I’ve seen approximately over a thousand times? Of course it all seemed a little too easy, and after reading chapter three I swiftly realized this assignment was going to be a little more intricate than I thought. However, after applying principles of social cognition to scenes throughout this film, this assignment actually refined my previous perspective and made me rethink the whole basis of the film entirely. Once I revaluated myself on topics such as how we perceive our social worlds I began to notice a lot about this film that I never realized before. One fact in particular I actually felt stupid for never discerning was that the narrator of the film (Edward Norton) never reveals his real name. I was always so attentive to the thought-provoking storyline and its unsystematic plot twists that it never even occurred to me. Nevertheless, I will refer to this character as the narrator. Early in the film the narrator has already undergone many instances involving social perception. The first notable perception shown in the film is belief perseverance. The narrator has implanted the belief in his mind that he has discovered a cure to his suffering insomnia by attending various support groups. Subsequently, he has developed the idea that going to these support groups has become an emotional release that relieves his stress an overall helps him sleep at night. I watched 12 Angry Men as my first movie, and even though it was made long time ago before I was born it still excites me how something so simple for everyone else could be easily changed. The film is based on the 1950’s and it’s about a trial of a young American (18 years) who is accused for stabbing his father and eventually killing him. From this, a group of 12 men is delegated as jury in this case for them to confirm or reject the decision. The trial revolved around the story of two key witnesses: an old man of about 75 years who was a neighbor of the scene, living in the lower apartment, and suffering from mobility impairment; and a woman about 45 years old who lived just in front of the youth department, the other side of the tracks, and suffered from impaired
Mad Max fury road is the comeback of the long forgotten mad max franchise and it is by far the best installment, the Movie is one of the best action movies I have seen in my life. The movie does a good job keeping you entertained as the characters in the movie are savages that love their cars and have cults like the war boys. The war boys are Men who worship all things mechanical like cars and believe the v8 engine is the source of their strength and they are completely loyal to their leader Immortan joe, and whenever there is an opportunity for glory they will chrome their teeth and tell a person to witness their demise. In the movie there are no completely sane people even Max has visions of his failures all the time and there are no morals on the fury road.
In Chuck Palahniuk’s novel Fight Club the narrator struggles with how to cope with his personal problems. The unnamed narrator attends these weekly sessions for ailments he does not have because he finds relief there. Although the narrator may not be inflicted with any physical ailments, he deals with mental illness, guilt, loneliness, and insomnia on a daily basis. In order to sleep, he went to the doctor in hopes of gaining some medical solutions. As he experiences severe sleep deprivation, his doctor simply told him to “swing by First Eucharist on a Tuesday night. See the brain parasites. See the degenerative bone diseases. The organic brain dysfunctions. See the cancer patients getting by” if he wished to witness real pain (19). With this
Fight Club is a movie that is based on a Chuck Palahniuk novel of the same name. The movie adaptation was written by Jim Uhls, directed by David Fincher and released October 15, 1999. The movie is about the life of the narrator, a depressed insomniac who works as a recall coordinator for an automobile company. The narrator is refused medication by his doctor, he turns to attending a series of support groups for different illnesses and uses these support groups for emotional release and this helps to temporarily cure his insomnia. This newfound cure ceases to help him when a girl, Marla Singer who is not a victim of any illness for which the support groups are offered begins to attend the support groups. The narrator returns from a business trip to find his apartment destroyed by an explosion, he calls Tyler Durden, a soap maker and sales man he met on one his business trips. Tyler offers the narrator a place to stay and together they start an underground “Fight Club” the narrator uses as his therapy for his insomnia. The club grows and becomes a source of psychotherapy for many other men. One of the concepts highlighted in the movie is how modern-day men in a supposedly civilized world use violent aggressive acts towards each other to as a means of emotional release and satisfaction.
