Feral Children in Society

The word “feral” is a term mostly used for animals who have not been tamed, wild or undomesticated, but I will use feral to describe children who were isolated or deprived by any means of human contact from a very young age, and have remained unaware of social norms. There are three categories of feral children; children raised in isolation, children raised in confinement, and children raised by animals.
Children raised in isolation are the ones who lived on their own, mostly getting lost and ending up in the wild. They grew up with humans for a while, but because of accidents like getting lost, they could have forgotten what it’s like to have a mundane life. Some of these children may have lived partly with the protection of animals such as dogs or wolves - although they were by no means raised by them.
Confined children are the causes of child abuse and neglect brought mostly by their families. A few of these children are mentally disabled and not feral at all since they were just kept in a confined room. Confined children are not consigned to history. Cases still appear regularly in the news today.
There are unbelievably a lot of children who were discovered and rescued from the jungle. These children have lived completely without any means of human contact. Due to the separation from human beings for a long period of time they act like animals. Their body is like human beings but their behavior is similar to animals. “Most feral children raised by animals have a better chance of learning to talk and socialize than those reared by their own kin though they exhibit character traits of the animal they were around, and generally cannot walk upright or speak, depending on the age they left human company.”(Forthe, 2009, paragraph ...

Social interaction provides sensory stimulation, which leads to the creation of short- and long-term memories. Memories are important because they support behaviors or actions in new social situations. Sharing is an example of a child's social development. Without prior experience, sharing, or other social development skills, is difficult to understand. Language development suffers when a child is isolated from others. This directly affects the ability of the child to communicate in social situations. This leads to lower the child’s self-esteem. It takes interaction with other persons for us to develop a form of communication. Humans who learned how to interact with others are the result of the environment and his innate qualities. Feral children are found to be quite uncivilized and barely able to walk or talk.
