Growing up in our world, there was a type of family that is considered “the family of the world”. That “family” consists of a father, mother, and a child or children. These types of families are not as common as they used to be. Now, some families consists of a single parent and children, or even the legal guardian of the children could not be blood related to them. Children might not even live within driving distance to their biological parents. Before my parents were divorced, I was already being raised by my mother. My father was not present in my daily life. Once they got divorced, he was not even in the same state as I was. When she was by herself legally, it was tough. I could not imagine living without my mother. She raised me to be the young lady she wished she could have been when she was growing up. I learned the concept of money before I was 12 years old. As a child, when you ask your parents for something you want, normally you hear “yes”, but I heard “no” more that I ever heard “yes”. I grew up with everything I needed to have and a couple of the things I wanted. My essential needs were always meet. My mother taught me how to be when things did not go the way I had planned it in my head. When my dad left, all my mother wanted to do was run away like he had. My mom new better then to run. We stayed where we were, and went through life as it was thrown at us. With everything going on at home, people thought something was wrong with me. My demeanor changed when I was at school. I grew quite and only would talk to my close friends and teachers when I did talk. I was depressed. I did not want people to know what was going on at my house. I did not completely know what was going on at my house and why my father decided to leave one
