The world interprets the definition of family in a variety of ways throughout their cultures. When thinking of a modern family most people would automatically think of family as a group of individuals living together in a household or multiple people from the same descent. The majority of society was raised thinking heterogeneous monogamy-different sex marriage allowed only one spouse- was the only type of marriage allowed. In this society people believe many different types of marriages are acceptable such as monogamy, polygamy, public and private families. Even most people would disagree but a family does not have to be a wife and husband with children.
The structural difference of the two families in the television series is that one family has multiple families conjoined and the other is a single family household. The diversity of this family is completely different of the multiple family household because the sex of the parents is homogeneous. Normally a multiple family would consist of a mother, father, children and descents off the family tree. The mother of the show passed away and left the two bachelors whom could possibly be her father joint custody to her 12-year-old daughter. The two guys decided the best way to raise a darling child that just lost her mother was to give her the loving family she deserved and they moved in together after being evicted from his house. The show The Middle represents a single family household containing a mother and father along with three children from those parents. This family portrays the modern type of family known in most cultures by living with those individuals under the ...

...single parents by divorce or for them to be remarried. Also friendships can change over time by having a disagreement or by just growing apart.
In both of these television shows there is parenting present throughout the two pilot episodes, although it is a different kind. The show my two dads is two fathers one with a job and another without. You could say one father is the breadwinner while the other is the homemaker even though that role usually gets rewarded to the mother. The Middle is different when it comes to the roles of the parents both are the breadwinners of the household and work every single day to support their family needs. Although working is a big part in being a parent that is not the only parenting they are responsible for as adults. They also both represent parenting in the families by making sure the children were cared for, clothed and loved.

The Family Of A Family Essay

- Parenting can sometimes be something that you learned from watching others or something you were just thrown into. Traditionally and idealistically, the perfect family would be a family in which both the mother and father are married to each other, the father is working, and the mother is also working but both parents are making time to take care of the children. Most American children are raised by both parents in their household (E. Jordan, personal communication, October 11, 2016). Idealistically, the father is mostly supporting the family and the children get to live and find themselves in a supportive household....   [tags: Family, Mother, Parent, Father]

Family Is A Family? Essay

- According to the textbook, “there are many ways to be a family. Family life is as diverse as the persons who create families” (Galvin, Braithwaite, & Bylund, 2014). I think the origins of how I think about families and what my definition of them definitely have to do with how I was raised. I was raised in a two parent biological family where my parents were married and my family was by blood. I also grew up in a white family where both my parents worked and were bringing in money so I think that had shaped my definition of family in a way....   [tags: Family, Mother, Father, Marriage]
