1. What factors caused World War 1 to break out?

There were many reasons for the outbreak of world war one the main causes include Nationalism, militarism, alliances imperialism and the Balkan and morocco crises there were many other causes for world war one such as the assassination of the heir to the Austro-Hungarian empire Franz Ferdinand and the assassination of jean Jaures a French socialist considered as Europe’s last chance for peace in the build up to the first world war.
Nationalism was a main factor in the cause of the First World War. This was because most people in this period was very proud of their country as it was straight after the big industrial revolution in Europe this factor created tension between rival countries such as Germany Austria-Hungary and Russia this indirectly lead to the dual alliance between Germany and Austria-Hungary to protect themselves from Russia then 3 years later in 1881 the Austro-Serbian alliance was formed between Austria-Hungary and Serbia to stop Russia taking control of Serbia, Nationalism was a key factor in causes the Great war because it helped cause tension between nations which lead to alliances which was also a major cause of world war one ;

...r more likely war in Europe. This last peace attempt pushed nationalist extremist Raoul villain to try to assassinate Jaures to create war and so on July 31st 1914 Jaures was assassinated in a cafe in Paris. This was a contributor to war because all over Europe people hoped that Jaures would create peace and that he was the last chance so if he was assassinated war would soon follow so once he was assassinated all it would take would be something which on its own would not cause war to kick off the war; in 1914 it was the assassination of Franz Ferdinand.

To conclude there were numerous Factors in the build up to war all of them leading or causing something else which over a long period of time made war more and more likely until on July 28th 1914 Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia in response to the assassination of their heir to the throne Franz Ferdinand.

Essay on Factors That Caused World War I

- I will now try to work out which were the most important and relevant causes of the war, which country or countries actually caused World War 1 and whether the long term or the short term causes were more important. Because many of the countries declared war on each other, one country cannot be solely to blame. The disputes between the different countries before and after they joined the alliances were about nationalism. From 1870 to 1914 the French wanted the Alsace Lorraine back. Russia wanted to gain ports on the coast, Serbia wanted independence in the Balkans and Austria-Hungary was worried about nationalism within its empire....   [tags: World War I, Bosnia and Herzegovina, World War II]
