In June 2012, the smoky haze, attributed mostly to fires burning at Sumatera, Indonesia, had hit Malaysia. The haze was the worst so far in this 10 years, according to Halimah Hassan, director general of Malaysia’s Department of Environment, based on the reading of air pollution index exceeding the dangerous and unhealthy level. (The New York Times, 2013) . After that, in November 2013, a landslide had occured in Cameron highlands and had killed seven persons. According to Harlida Abdul Wahab (2013), lecturer of Universiti Utara Malaysia, the cause of the landslide is due to uncontrolled developing activities in Cameron Highlands. The latest one, worse blood had occured in Kuantan and Kemaman and the factor is the rainwater does not flow naturally due to the development at both areas (Arfa Yunus, 2013). However, nowadays, environmental issues are not only become crucial topic in Malaysia, but also become a great concerns at the international level. The environmental issues is about the problems on the earth's systems and mostly is the result of human mistreatment on the earth. The sequences of these environmental issues show us how important awareness on environmental issues. Thus, we really believe that awareness on environmental issues is crucial to every individual and can avoid or at least minimize the problems.
According to United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP, 2012), environment issues can be defined as issues with negative global environmental impact that are recognized by the scientific community as very important to human well-being.
Some of the factors of the negative environment impacts are the rise of temperature, the greenhouse effect, carbon dioxide emissions by open burning, deforestation, excessive waste, t...

The environment has seen and dealt with numerous changes in our society over the years. The environment has suffered through one of the most monumental but extremely damaging times in our history, the Industrial Revolution. The Industrial Revolution was the transition to new manufacturing processes in the period from about 1760 to sometime between 1820 and 1840. The world saw a major increase in population during that period, which led to the depletion of natural resources. The use of chemicals and fuel in factories resulted in increased air and water pollution and an increased use of fossil fuels. The industrial revolution caused a huge environmental problem that has surfaced in the last couple of decades, climate change. (Gillaspy, 2017). Climate change occurs due to rise in global warming which occurs due to
The means of communication can be informative and entertaining. There are many pros and cons when it comes to deciphering the effects of mass media. It serves to alert and inform its audiences about newsworthy occurrences using the shock factor, worst-case scenario circumstances. It also plays a key role in defining our cultural tastes, establishing our national identity and...

The climate on the Earth is changing. Ice age is interleaved with the global warming. In the present age, the temperature of the Earth's climate system continue rapidly increase and it leads to global warming. Global warming is the process of gradual growth of average annual temperature of the atmosphere of the Earth and World ocean. The average temperature on the Earth was increased by 0.6C. There are various reasons of global warming, such as human activities, natural events, increasing of gases, such as carbon dioxide in atmosphere and solar activity (Global warming). Nearly 200 countries have signed Kyoto Protocol and they must reduce four greenhouse gases, in order to struggle with global warming. There are several perspectives about effects of global warming on environment. In this essay will be considered the impacts and consequences of global warming . In the process, it will be clarified that there are positive and negative impacts of global warming.
Pollution is affecting many individuals and life, as we know it. We need to do something about how it’s affecting our world. That’s why I urge the issue that more people should realize that pollution is an issue that needs to be prevented because of its negative consequences. Which are health affects, the total destruction of environments, and the death of animals and plants. More awareness must be brought up amongst the people and they must realize the long-term benefits it has for the world.
In addition, environmental problems also occur is water safety. This is because, if the problem is not addressed immediately, it will become more serious in stopping climate change to happen. In addition, it also reduces the melting of glaciers that occur in the Himalayan Mountains. Furthermore, in dealing with this problem, it is also helpful in preventing drought, and give an impact slowing deforestation activities thus can cause soil erosion, landslides, and flooding has decreased. The hygiene of the river and the coast are strongly encouraged, so that they can provide awareness to the coming generations that the water resources are very important to humans.
It has been explained that “the term does not only correspond to knowledge in the field of environmentalism but includes the value, attitude, and essential skills that are required to solve environmental related issue” (Sengupta, Das & Maji, 2010). On the other hand, Sutton (2010) defined Environmental sustainability as “the ability to maintain the qualities that are valued in the physical environment”. Truly, environmental sustainability carries of great significance value and it is the stipulation to retain the life quality and economic competitiveness of a country. To appraise the aforementioned factors legitimately, consequently, an Environmental Performance Index (EPI) was developed by Yale University, United States, to evaluate the performance on environmental policies of a state or country. Brunei ranked 37th out of 137 countries globally and second among ASEAN countries in the 2014 EPI (Borneo Bulletin, 2015). Thus, the growing importance of ENGOs has been significant in Brunei as they are an important actor in increasing awareness and sustainability in the country. With the support from local ENGOs, Brunei government is taking immense footsteps and has set itself on a proactive path to ensure a buoyant environmental development despite the well position the country is currently

Environmental issues expand into a global level, and it is not likely tackled by the country itself. A raising awareness on the environmental matter among nations, the cooperation between nations is essential. In the three articles, they have adopted different approaches to address the environmental issues. However, three of them view the problem not only in signal angle, either with inter – discipline or multi – level perspective. The authors of the three essays have indicated governments play an important role for managing those
Gaskins and Jerit (2012) contributed their research on this topic and introduce it by sharing, “these findings have important implications for researchers and industry executives who seek to understand the changing nature of the media environment and its effects on the mass public” (p. 191).
Participation by the public, amongst other things, is crucial to the success of the EIA process.
In the domain of environmental issues, environmental education plays a vital role in sensitizing people on the need and significance of programs carried out to address environmental problems and challenges confronting them. Morgan (1997) states that environmental education increase public consciousness, change perception and provide knowledge of environmental issues and challenges.
There are lots of environmental issues going on globally. The earth faces problems such as pollution, global warming, waste disposal, and loss of biodiversity. These are just a small amount of issues out of the so many. These environmental problems pose an abundant amount of risk to the health of humans and animals. There needs to be a solution to all these problems and that is by informing others, so that way everyone can make the environment a better place.
Environmental studies is a paramount field to focus on for both the present day and the future. This field of studies pertains to all people, animals, plants, and biomes around the world. Environmental Studying is important because it is only by understands the environmental processes that we can begin to take the steps necessary to correct the on-going damage that is occurring, and ultimately protect and sustain life on the planet. Unless steps are taken to try and abate and control environmental problems, which are often human-generated or exacerbated, then the environmental that we live in will continue to deteriorate. There is no life without protecting the source that sustains us. Even though I have only been alive for seventeen years, it has been long enough to see many negative environmental changes. Since I was born that population has grown by over one billion people causing deforestation, loss of wildlife, increased pollution to both air and water, and even superbugs. However, I have also been able to see extremely positive results such as an increase in the research and implementation of renewable resources. The reason I am so motivated to study environmental science is because I know that change is possible. Those who study environmental science and study have the ability to help reduce, and possible reserve, some of the damage that has been done to the environment while at the same time, helping to advance the well-being of our fellow humans.
