In 2014, my aunt and her wife surprised my family with a trip to Hawaii. My dad was born in Hawaii and had not been back since he was young. When he was sick in the hospital, my aunt asked my dad what his biggest wish was; he said he wanted to go to Hawaii. After waiting for my dad’s health to improve, the trip was finally planned. In June, we flew to the island of Maui. When we got there, the atmosphere felt different from how it is in Alabama. Hawaii is a beautiful place with many adventures waiting. Out of all the vacations, my family has been on; our trip to Hawaii brought us all closer together. My favorite part of the trip was going zip lining at Skyline Eco Adventures in Ka'anapali. This was something that nobody in my family has ever done so it was an …show more content…
Needless to say, I had fresh pineapple and waffles with coconut syrup for breakfast. That was my meal every morning along with an omelet. For dinner one night my aunts made a reservation for us to join a Luau. Hawaiians roast a pig for the Luau meal. We lined up along the walkway for the pig to be carried to the table. I also tried Poi, it looked like refried beans, but it tasted nothing like them. Another night we ate at Nick’s restaurant, it was a breathtaking restaurant with great dessert choices! Strawberries Panzini was my dad's favorite; it was made at your table and what a show it was to watch them create such a wonderful dessert. On each person's plate, they made a picture of a unique sunset and then they set the chocolate and strawberries on fire piece leaving us with a delicious dessert. Without my family, the trip to Hawaii would not have been as great as it was. I enjoyed spending time with my parents and aunts while exploring new things. My aunts made this trip very special for my dad, and I am thankful to be apart of the experience. Hawaii is a breathtaking place with views one can only dream
While walking down the beach, the white, warm sand mushes between your toes. The sun’s radiant rays beam off your glowing skin. The sound of waves crashing blocks out the external world. There is no other place like the gorgeous tropical islands of Hawaii. The wide range of flowers, cuisine, and wildlife makes it one of the most picturesque places on Earth. It also leads the United States with the highest racial minority rate making it the most diverse state. However, there are numerous hidden dangers of Hawaii, and not all ethnic groups get along causing sharp tensions across the island.
When I stepped out of the hot, airless plane into the bright, dazzling sunlight beaming down across the burning concreate, I felt excited and nervous. Holding my beach bag in my hand and slipping my Ray Ban sunglasses on with my other, I flip-flopped down the airspace. Overhead I heard the screams of gulls and the chatter of the small fluffy birds. I suddenly realized I had arrived to Hawaii. This trip was such an unforgettable vacation for me because I got to witness the beauty of nature that Hawaii has to offer.
Although I am only 15 years old and have not had too much life experience, I have experienced something that already has and will continue to change my life majorly in a very positive way. My parents decision to enlist me in the wilderness program in Hawaii, Pacific Quest was the reason why I now know so much more about myself and the reasons behind some of my previous actions. This decision has also led me to accept the beauty of nature and become more grateful for the world that we live in.
Over all I had an amazing trip to Niagara Falls! I got to spend time with my family and we all had fun. I had new experiences that I could now share with others and I’m pretty sure my family does also. This is the trip I will never forget.
Hawaii has a diverse culture where it is expressed through art, music, language, dance, theater, cuisine, film, and multiple festivals. Its culture and traditions reflect the land’s beauty. Hula is the traditional dance of Hawaii and is rooted to the religion of the natives that live there. It was believed it a god or goddess who performed the first hula and because of that, the dance is considered as a sacred ritual more than a form of entertainment. Ancient Hawaiian folk music were used for a multitude of purposes, a few examples would be to give praise to the gods and goddesses or telling mythological stories. Prior to The music was often accompanied with festivals, games, and other events.
As you can see I did grow up in paradise. Although, I think I have shown that Hawaii is more than just a travel destination. It is a whole other world in and of itself. The spirit of the islands and the people are something that can’t be experienced anywhere else; the same can be said for the array of assorted cultural cuisine brought from around the globe. Food is the glue that keeps everyone in harmony. I am proud to say that I came from a land I love so much and would fight to keep safe as long as I live. The person I am today has been shaped by the rich Hawaiian heritage found only on the islands; everyone should experience it at least once in their life.
Growing up in Hawaii, I’ve had many unique experiences that other teenagers in the U.S. have not. My family has been living in Hawaii for several generations and ever since I was born, my mom strongly encouraged me to know and learn more about my heritage. Since my mom is from Molokai, she has had many different Hawaiian experiences. Also since my grandmother lives there, I’ve spent just as much time on Molokai as I have on Maui. To me, the real Hawaiian experience is on an island such as Molokai because there is so much more that hasn’t been seen or discovered like there has been on Maui. I believe that the real Hawaiian experience isn’t in a place that is overpopulated and crowded with people, but in a place that actually resembles old Hawaii.
Before arriving in Hawaii, I thought I was coming to a tropical paradise, beautiful sunsets, nice trees, long walks on the beach, generally a place to have fun and relax. But Hawaii was nothing like what I had imagined.
The plane ride back is always the worst part of any trip. You have just embarked on an incredible journey that always leaves you wanting to do more and see more, but alas you have to go home. This trip was different, however, because I felt so gratified. I experienced something I never thought i would be able to by traveling to where my grandfather grew up. I experienced getting to know someone I could never meet but am forever connected to and entwined with. Finding things out about, and traveling to places connected to your lineage can be a difficult undertaking, but very much worth it in the
There are things that you will see here that you just won’t find anywhere else. Nothing else matches the spirit and love the native Hawaiians and local residents have for the people that come to visit.
The trip to Asia was a chance of a lifetime. It could not have been any more perfect. We worked hard and learned a lot. The memories and friends made are unforgettable. I only hope that I helped make someone else's trip just as wonderful.
I was able to spend a lot of time with my family, our friends, and play all sorts of games. This experience made me start to like traveling. Every time I would get the chance to travel, I will take that chance. We were able to go to a theme park, eat many delicious foods, and play many video
Throughout someone’s life they will go to many places with their family, friends, another relatives. I have been on a few vacations that have made a lasting impact on my life. But one of the most memorable vacations I have experienced was with my cousins. I went to goa beach. Most of you probably don’t know about that beach but it is a very famous one in south India. I enjoyed myself to the fullest. The beach environment was enlightening. I would not have wanted to take this trip with anyone other than my cousins. We had a great time on the ocean sands and swimming in the ocean everyday made this vacation unforgettable.
My most memorable family vacation took place two years ago. We went to Corsica, a French island situated in the south of France right next to Italy. I remembered waking up early excited to visit this new land. Used to take long flights, I was surprised to arrive to the destination after a one-hour flight. Even though the flight was short for me, it was stressful for my mom, she has never felt secured in a plane, probably due to the fact that she is afraid of height. When finally arrived at the destination, the dry and warm weather was there to welcome us. We all felt relief, and knew that this was the beginning of the summer. Excited, we had a lot of activities planned for the few weeks, me and my father could not wait to dive in the clear
