Nowadays, human being is living in a digital environment, and he is overwhelmed with discovery and information. Every day, there are lots of new ways to do, to fix, and to learn things. To keep pace with this rapid growth of knowledge revolution, people have to be literate. Therefore, everybody should have an academic education.
First of all, having been to school helps to get well-informed. It comes easier to get access to information and to learn things rapidly. For example, in Amazon.com, there are thousands of books of hundred year’s knowledge one can get access to be informed. Also, a person who is literate is not easy to be misled, he knows where to get information, has critical mind, and knows how to get the most of data. It is an evidence that information getting from a mere person without proof is not relevant, so

For instance, it will be easier for a literate person to bring up his children. Since he has been to school, he is knowledgeable, and he will be of a great utility to his children. Among many reasons, he can direct them through their academic journey by guiding them during some academic assignments as well as orienting them for their chosen careers, which will give the children a solid power to move confidently forwards and a strong pride of their parents. Above all, for students, teachers and parents are their mirrors; they want to resemble exactly to their educators and to do efficiently things like them. When educated parents are regarded as a reference, it is a good piece of news for the world.
In conclusion, being literate has a very significant impact not only on the educated people themselves and their up-brought children but also on the world. The government of every country should find all means to encourage any person who is willing to go to school or to get academic knowledge. At any age, anyone can still learn something
If you allow yourself to become educated it is not only beneficial to yourself but also to other people and to the world. Like Plato says in the essay that if the prisoner who was let free comes back to the cave with the real truth of the world he would tell the others prisoners that the shadows are not the real truth. By receiving an education you are now able to see the world for what it really is. We don’t want to be all locked away in our own heads, where we can’t understand the real meanings of things, everyone should want to be educated.
It is very important to be educated in today’s society. There are not many jobs you can do if you are not educated or illiterate. Being illiterate can cause great difficulty getting through daily life. It in fact can be very dangerous. I don’t agree with John Gatto’s essay Against School: How Public Education Cripples Our Kids, and Why had affected my public education negatively, but it could have better prepared students for the years beyond education.
Education means a variety of things to any individual because it is the route to fulfilling dreams that one would not have otherwise been able to believe was possible. Just as food provides nourishment to the stomach, happiness satisfaction to the soul, education is the dietary supplement to the brain. Education endows one with the strength and motivation to have a dream, as a consequence one is able to lead a life filled with happiness. One is able to have contentment because with the attainment of an educated mind they are cognizant that they can achieve all of what they have ever imagined. As children we are taught to dream what we want to become and as an adolescent, we are able to live to become just as what we have imagined. The very essence of what we seek to become is educated in a sense because we can only become a step closer to making our reality come into existence without beginning with education.
I believe that the purpose of education is to produce the next generation of leaders who are intelligent and have great character. This idea is supported in the article “The Purpose of Education” by Martin Luther King. Martin Luther King Jr. was a civil rights activist who fought for black and white people to have equal rights in America. He writes about the true purpose, and meaning of education in the article by saying, “Education must enable one to sift and weigh evidence, to discern the true from the false, the real from the unreal, and the facts from the fiction (MLK1).” This quote from the article explains that being academically educated is very important. It will help people stand up, be a leader, and take charge to make the world a better place for everyone. That gallant leader will argue against the fallacy, lies,
There are about 60 million school aged children in the world who are not in school, according to the article “Education”. Educated children have more opportunities compared to non-educated children, however, it is not just educated children that get more opportunities, but also educated adults. It does not matter how old someone is when they get their education, but that they are getting an education at all. This is portrayed in the excerpts “Me Talk Pretty” by David Sedaris, “The Human Cost of an Illiterate Society” by Jonathan Kozol, and “Learning to Read” by Frederick Douglass. Education leads to individual success and empowerment.
Education is valued greatly in the contemporary world. We believe that the knowledge gained at universities and colleges is the key to finding a good job, being prosperous and succesful in life. Education is seen as a kind of legacy – it encompasses all the values, experiences, and achievements of our ancestors, and in order to ensure the survival of a culture it must be passed on to future generations. However, schooling should never have been made mandatory.
education is not just to earn a degree but to shape an individual into a well-rounded and well-informed
The world without knowledge is in complete disorder; we don’t realize how empty and ignorant we are without knowledge. The ignorance within ourselves, nonetheless, can be filled with education and bring definite changes which can impact an individual, a community, a generation and eventually our world. Naturally the world, in the long run, is dependent upon the educated. Success is carried throughout the pursuit of obtaining skills and valuing the virtue of education and academics. Education, by far means, is the most important facet of college and well worth the investment.
Academic achievement was something I took pride in. It was important for me to feel as though I was exceeding the expectations and requirements of the education system I was in. While reading chapter 16 of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance: An Inquiry into Values, my viewpoints on academic achievement changed. Now I realize that my previous idea of academic achievement was incorrect.
The term ‘education’ can mean many things. An education is the collective knowledge a person has, but what does an education mean? Although an education can be paid for, no one can physically give you an education, so it is not a gift. There are societal situations where an education is a necessity, but not many globally. Education is a tool to be utilized differently in every part of the world. Knowledge is power, but some knowledge is more powerful depending on your region. If you are part a primitive tribe in New Guinea, a person that is considered to be educated may be illiterate. Whereas in America, an illiterate person would have trouble functioning at all in society. Education is a tool that is to be developed by a combination of motivation, preparation, support, and society.
Not to specifically blame the parents for the teen get pregnant. Although the teens have not taken fault for their actions, but need to be aware for future references. Sex education should be taught in high school. According to these organizations, only about 50% of teen mothers have a high school diploma compared with 90% of girls who did not have a teen pregnancy. Fewer than four in 10 (38%) teen girls who have a child before they turn 18 earn their high school diploma. Fewer than 2% of teens who have a baby before the age of 18 obtain a college degree by age 30 (“socialworktoday”). Teen mothers are less likely to graduate from high school and more likely than their peers who delay childbearing to live in poverty and to rely on welfare (Hoffman, 2006). I encourage Sex Education in schools... to explain and show the outcomes of teen pregnancy and STD's that are spreading much faster throughout our nation, because parents have not taken a few moments to explain and elaborate into specific detail on this trending topic ("U.S. Teen Pregnancy Rate Continues to Fall ").
Einstein once said that, “the value of education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think”. Higher education has been a controversial subject for many years. Yet, people are still not cautious of the importance of college years. Whilst some may consider higher education to be a privilege, others, regardless of the financial expenses, argue that it should become a right. Not only does a diploma guarantee employment at a respected job, assists in the development of one’s independence and responsibility level, it also has a considerable influence on one’s intellectual and social abilities.
In the world today, education is not as common as most people think. In fact, Harvard did a recent study on the worlds education status, and only 6.7 percent of the world’s population are college degree-holders. Education cannot be replaced, and that is what makes education in the world today so valued. If people are educated, they hold a higher social status throughout their culture. The opportunity to be educated gives one the chance to help others. The more people who become educated can then help others become educated, and the world’s percent for educated people will increase. Education results on a person by, increasing their tolerance for others, greater critical thinking skills, and having their moral obligations set.
Education will help you grow as an individual because the more knowledge you have the better understanding you will have in any given problem that will come your way. It will give you self satisfaction and will boost your self confidence. As an individual I know it will help me in a lot of aspects in my life. It will give me a financial stability because I will be able to land a good job and a high paying salary. I will learn how to spend my money and will learn how to invest it wisely. The more education I have the more respect and acknowledgement I will get from people. Knowledge is really important that is why we need to take it seriously. It is the strong weapon you can have to conquer this complex world. If you have a good education nobody can fool you and you will not tolerate any mistreatment from people. It will give you a better views in life if you are well educated.
