Every time someone asks, “who are you?” You would generally tell them your name and end it right there, but that is not the whole story. Your name is only a mere blip in the universe of our minds and can change if you would like it to. In order to tell who you really are is to go deeper, looking at small pieces or the boulder size pieces that come together like a puzzle. It creates a work of art that is one of kind. That is, you. It was not until recently that I found a piece of who I am. I was out with some friend that wanted to go to “the cliff” and I will admit, I was a little scared because I did not know what they were talking about. When I hear the word cliff, I think of the Grand Canyon and the long drop to the bottom, a thousand foot wall that you cannot see the bottom to. But I agreed to go. We hiked maybe a mile up a road and through woods to come to this small outcrop of rocks looking over the reservoir. A few of my friends jumped from the top while the others and I went to a lower point. It could not have been much higher than the high dive at …show more content…
Working here has made me realize that I want to work with kids later on in live to but also helping them. I set a goal a few years back that I am going to do everything in my power to keep in that way and I am sticking to it. I want to be a nurse that works in the neonatal intensive care unit where I can work with the babies but also help them. It will be a long, rough, bumpy road but I am willing to do it. Being able to watch them grow and get off the vents and gadgets if they can, and helping the families if they can’t. At the same time, I want to work in the Emergency Room and be in all the action and gore while working my way to the NICU. It’ll take time and energy but I am willing to give my all to get there. I won’t stop until I do. If I want it, I am going to get no matter how hard it is along the way. It’s part of

Throughout our lives, we carry and value our own beliefs. As we face different challenges, we may be persuaded into making certain choices. However, no matter how convincing a person may be, in the end we always have the last word. Nobody likes being told what to do but we do like to hear other opinions for a different perspective. The proper way of using rhetoric is through a confident tone that is knowledgeable of their topic. The speaker should have integrity and be selfless in the sense that they are understanding towards their audience.
Ever since the fall, mankind has had a voracious desire for power and influence. People witness this desire within the walls of the Capitol Building when the media exposes backroom deals. It also springs up whenever a politician uses a podium to persuade people that he makes the world work. Politicians possibly rely on persuasion because they crave the power. However, persuasion is a manipulative, unBiblical tactic of forcing others to accept a point of view by all means necessary.
Dally you should not even think about killing yourself it will not solve anything and will only make thing worse for everybody who cares about you. I know that you will not believe this and think that the world is horrible and is not worth living in but I promise you that there is still good in the world. I know that you will say that there is not and that I am naive, but I was not the only one to see this even Johnny saw it as he was dieing. He wanted me to try to point this out to you but I knew that you would need more than just me and Johnny's persuasion so I got word from all of the gang and some idea of how to make things better.
Welcome to America. Land of the free, home of the brave. A place they call the “land of opportunity”. Or more famously touted as the “American Dream”. It seems like by just hearing these phrases all you have to do is journey to America to make your dreams come true. That life will be easier by just being in America. Like America is the ice cream man with his truck that plays that all too familiar jingle. As soon as you hear it, like a child you are out of your house pining for his attention so that he may stop and give you the cool, sweet refreshment that everyone loves. Yet, forgetting that in order to get the sweet treat you need to pay. Because, no matter how friendly, nice, or inviting he is. He still needs to work, he still needs to keep his lights on, he has mouths to feed. That ice cream is not free. There is no free lunch.
1.Before you do anything you need to check your heart, take a few deep breaths and ask yourself why you are about to step on the field. If your answer is that the game is your life, your heart, your sole then you are ready to take the field. Do not take the field if you have any doubt in your mind that you do not love this game.
I had known for years that I wanted to work in the health care field, but I always believed it would be as a doctor. I watched for the first few years of my brother’s life as he struggled with different health challenges such as being born premature, having croup and breathing difficulty, and speech impairment. Watching my brother struggle and then being able to overcome these difficulties, as well as seeing other children around him who were not as fortunate, really pushed me even at a young age to make a difference. My family, both immediate and extended, were very supportive, and I felt a real positive push towards working hard to achieve that goal of working in health care. In high school, I was fortunate enough to do a cooperative placement at the Peterborough Regional Health Center’s Intensive Care Unit. Through observing rounds and being in the medical setting, I truly knew this is where I wanted to
If, you had a child and they asked what would you say? I would probably think about it in a few ways. Like 'Do they really need it right now?' 'When's the right age for it?' or 'Would they overuse it or take it to school for no reason?'. If, you give your child a phone to early they can get addicted and they could possibly bring it to school for emergancy. Some sources say 11 others say 13-16 or in their starts of middle school years.
Competitive reality shows are so popular because they challenge the contestants. After accepting the challenge the contestants must navigate their way through a myriad of obstacles with one goal in mind...winning. In order to win they have to break out of their comfort zone. My father decided he wanted to drive and judge a debate tournament my freshman year. This was his second time doing judging and driving. It was Public Forum, LD, parliamentary state qualifiers in Oceanside. My father finished judging and wanted to leave. My partner Holley Parsons and I were watching a speech round. I was marked down for texting. My father came in and removed me, my parent and another girl by the name of Jade Hovel from the room. He was angry and called me a stupid ignorant whore and we started going home. He continues to yell and ended up swerving off the road to hit me. That night I was not allowed to go back to my grandmas. He slammed me into the wall in the hallway. The next day Holley and Jade reported my father and as

For my “How to do” speech my goal was to share with the class an interesting and informative way to learn something new. Due to the speeches time limit, I knew I needed to be well prepared. I wanted to be less nervous before and during my speech. While presenting I was nervous, but I didn’t really have time for these feelings to sink in because I was focused on the information I wanted to share with the audience. I enjoyed presenting in the second group of speeches so I could see my peers different types of speaking style. The audience seemed alert and interested in my topic which made it a little bit easier for me to speak, because there weren’t any distractions in the room from people not paying attention. I think part of that was because
Many people take for granted the opportunities they receive through the hard work of others, but this attitude needs to stop because it has become the “norm” for students to expect their teachers and professors to provide them with an education. While it is true that in the United States, students are required to attend school until the age of eighteen, many children around the world lack this luxury. This “right” is commonly looked down upon by students, because they do not have the motivation to succeed, as they did not have to work to get into school and to pay for their schooling. Everyone takes something for granted, whether it is an education, a roof over one’s head, food on the table, or the commencement speaker at one’s high school graduation, everyone forgets to be thankful. As Admiral McRaven stated, “But of all the things I remember, I don’t have a clue who the commencement speaker was that evening, and I certainly don’t
