Grusec emphasizes that Bandura’s focus was not on age-related changes in behavior, but in the processes of behavior acquisition and change. Grusec concentrated on Bandura’s social learning in the aspect of “Observational Learning, Self-Regulation, Self-efficacy and Reciprocal Determination. I will concentrate on the basic concept of Observational Learning and the four mediational processes proposed by Bandura: The social learning tactic takes thought processes into account and accepts the role they play in deciding if a behavior is to be imitated or not. As such, Social Learning Theory provides a more complete explanation of human learning by identifying the role of the mediational processes. Behavior theories are usually presented in terms of nature or nurture, and which underestimates the complexity of human behavior. It is more likely that behavior is due to an interaction between nature (biology) and nurture (environment). Some criticisms believe the learning theory is not justification for all behavior. In conclusion, Bandura 's, Social Learning Theory is applicable to many crucial cultural issues. Modeling is a pattern of behavior in which we do what we see., However, I do not agree with Bandura in that learning today ; will be acting out tomorrow. People’s beliefs and values change according to their stage of life. The theory strongly implies that there are types of learning wherein direct reinforcement is not the causal mechanism; rather, the so called social element can result in the development of new learning among individuals. Grusec helped me to understand Social Learning Theory and has been useful in explaining how people can learn new things and develop new behaviors by observing other people. It is to assume, therefore, that Social Learning Theory is concerned on the Observational Learning process among individuals.
