Team Evaluation System
Because college teams are composed of individuals who come from many various backgrounds, educational level, and cultures, it is always a challenging task to implement a rating system that not only provides a sense of fairness and equity but, also helps ensure the success of the team. Team 1 has developed a system comprised of meaningful metrics which allows all members to assess how well a team member is performing. The results will be used to improve quality, increase efficiency, and enhance overall productivity.
Construct a Team Evaluation Form
This rating system is constructed with specific criteria such as participation, teamwork, communication, professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and time management; however, it is also designed to be simple, time-saving, and easy to understand. In addition, the rating system also has a section in which the individual can give specific feedback regarding their experience. This will allow for one’s professionalism to be highlighted or the area of opportunity to be identified from a team member’s point of view. This collective data gives a snapshot of the individual contribution, work ethic and collaborative efforts to support the common goal of the group. (possible rewording?)
Because it is difficult for professor to assess which student worked on any given part and to know if everyone did equal work or if everyone pulled their own weight, the team evaluation system needs to have the right approach. Specifically, this measurement should also involve the 360-degree feedback technique. Conclusion
The combined use of rating scales and multi-rater feedback helps minimize biases and subjective opinions. Moreover, for peer evaluation to be successful, it is important that the team build an inclusive and supportive environment to foster trust among all the participants. Also, the assessment should be carried out frequently throughout the project life cycle to maintain the quality of the team, as well as, to take necessary corrective actions. Most importantly, the information gathered from these evaluations can be used to reward performance and to be documented as lessons learned to be used in future teams.
