An empirical article is a research article that reports the results of a study that uses data derived from actual observation or experimentation. The research may use quantitative research methods, which generate numerical data and seek to establish causal relationships between two or more variables. Empirical articles normally contains Introduction, Literature review, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusion and References (Shuttleworth, 2008). The purpose of this paper is to compare the three empirical research studies from Comparison Matrix Assignment. The reviewed includes: Article 1, which purpose is to offer an overview of the relationships between burnout in registered staff nurses working in outpatient hemodialysis setting, psychological empowerment, and structural empowerment. Article 2 examined the characteristics of the complaints made in the nursing program of a private university, and article 3 explored the relationship between communication avoidance of cancer-related topics with psychological distress, and the mediating role of coping strategies in women with breast cancer. The paper aims to compare the research question posed for the studies, the sample populations used and limitations of the studies.

...fluences that the researcher cannot control. They are the shortcomings, conditions or influences that that place restrictions on methodology and conclusions of the studies.
Conclusion
The concept of completing comparison matrix assignment offers doctoral learners important tools for critical thinking and understanding methods of empirical research. Learning to strategically read empirical studies can ultimately help the doctoral learners manage time more effectively. Hypothesis/research question and sample population must be included in an empirical article. The reviewed studies only took into the account the perception of the nurses and not the management perception of burnout. Data collection instrument were not consistent for recording complaints descriptor in article 2. Based on these findings on the two article, futures research would be recommended.
