Some events which occurred in Europe from 1937 to 1939 caused an outbreak of war in 1939. The key events were Germany's involvement in the Spanish Civil war, the successful attempt by Germany of the anschluss of Austria, the Munich Conference that decided the fate of Czechoslovakia which was a result of appeasement policy, the Non – Aggression Pact between the Nazi and the Soviet Union, the invasion of Poland by Germany and the rise of fascism in Europe, particularly in Germany and Italy. This European conflict in 1939 spread into a world war (World War II) by the end of 1941. These European conflicts had spread into a world war by Germany invading France, Soviet Union breaking the Non – aggression pact, Denmark, Luxembourg, Yugoslavia and Greece. Germany also attempted to occupy Britain but failed miserably. The most significant event of all that made the war global was the bombing of Pearl Harbour in USA by the Japanese. This ended the isolationism in USA and that was the beginning of the global war. From July 1936 to 1939 was the time of Spanish Civil War. Germany and Italy sent troops and equipment to the Spanish army rebels, these were led by General Franco in an attempt to overthrow the elected republican government. General Franco asked Hitler (Nazi) and Mussolini (Fascist) to aid the nationalists. Hitler agreed and ordered three major military operations in Spain during the Spanish Civil War. The German Condor Air Legion used this as an experiment to test the Luftwaffe's capability by sending over 250 aircrafts, this caused the destruction of the city of Gurnica. At the height of the war, there were a total of about 20,000 Germans fighting in Spain. In World War II the Allied Forces had a "Europe First" campaign of invading the Atlantic countries before the Pacific. This is because Germany served as a bigger threat than Japan to the Allied Powers. In the United States, Franklin Delanor Roosevelt was the President. He kept America neutral at first, but later entered in after Pearl Harbor. George Patton was a popular U.S. Army leader who started tank warfare in America. Bernard Montgomery commanded the 8th Army which had victories in Europe including D-Day. At the near end of the war Omar Bradley toured through Germany notifying the rest of the world what had gone on there with all of the death camps during the Holocaust, which was where the murder of over 6 millioin Jewish people took place.
Germany continued to push buttons resulting in the world jumping into a World War. Nations desired to grow and gain more influence. Danger increased while others selfish dictators were trying to bloom. In The Treaty of Versailles an article stated that German troops were forbidden from entering
World War II was a war that proved to the world the awesome power of the United States. Many events led up to the U.S. involvement in the war, topped off by the Japanese attack of Pearl Harbor. Many great people contributed to leading the United State to victory in the war. They include General Douglas MacArthur, General Dwight Eisenhower, and President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. World War II also consisted of many major events including Operation Overlord and the U.S. bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Overall the United States played a major role in World War II and displayed their power through strong generals and their initiative and strong leadership in major events.

Then two years later in 1941 Japan bombed America in which is known as Pearl Harbor and General Eisenhower entered America into World War II. America then joined the Allied powers and helped fight against the Axis powers. The major countries that took part as the Allied Powers in World War II was the United States of America, Great Britain, France, and Russia.Their main goal was to stick together and to defend each other from the attacks of the Axis Powers. The Axis powers consisted of Germany, Italy, and Japan.General EIsenhower had been planning an attack on the beaches of Normandy in France.

In studying this war, there are some significant events that contributed to the start of World War II, that led to the US's entrance into W.W.II, and events that helped bring an end to W.W.II. The failure of the Geneva Peace conference, Hitler's annexation of Austria, the Spanish Civil War, Hitler's acquisition of Czechoslovakia, the Nazi-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact, Germany's invasion of Poland, and the fall of France all contributed greatly to the start of World War II. Some events that contributed to the entrance of the US into the war were Italy's invasion on Ethiopia, Japan's invasion of China, the Attack on Pearl Harbor, the Destroyer-Base Deal, the Nye Committee, and the Lend-Lease Act. The Invasion of Italy, the Battle of Midway, D-Day, the Battle of the Bulge, and the fall of Berlin to the Soviets were five of the events that contributed to the ending of World War II.
World War II began in 1939 when the German armies decided to invade parts of Europe, therefore causing Europeans to retaliate against the Germans (World War 1). World War II began because those countries which were defeated in World War I (Germany, Italy, and Japan) were greatly devastated by the loss. Their countries were suffering from economical problems and were also left in bad conditions after World War I. They had lost much territory and now were practically in debt for the damages which they had done during the war (1). These countries figured that the only way for them to get out of economic depression and revive their country was to take land from other countries, which was one of the reasons why the war began.
Before the war started, European countries felt a force pushing them towards war. As these feelings started to rise the Great Powers of Europe started to form alliances. The first alliance consisted of Germany, Italy, and Austria-Hungary they called themselves the Triple Alliances. The second alliance consisted of France, Britain, and Russia and they called themselves the Triple Entente. International tensions start to build up between the European countries. Each country trying to prove itself as more superior compared to the other countries. An increase in nationalism within certain countries. During the war, countries created new weapons and increased technological advancement. Such creations included rapid machine gun, artillery gun, aircraft, tanks, poison gas, u-boats, etc.

President Franklin Delanore Rosevelt made the difficult decision to drop two nuclear bombs on Japan. this resulted in more unimaginable loss. Finally, after over four and a half million lives lost, Japan surrendered, bringing World War 2 to a close.
Wars are good business. They create an immediate demand for a wide variety of materials needed by the government in order to fight the war. They create work opportunities for people that might not ordinarily be considered part of the normal work force. And, while not necessarily good for the soldiers engaged in the fighting, wars are always good for the businesses that provide the materials used in a war. The Second World War was very good for business.
The world plunged into World War II in 1939, from the unsettlement between countries. Different countries had different ideas about world affairs. Some countries preferred appeasement and other countries preferred collective securities to solve problems such as the turmoil in Germany. According to the circumstances of Europe during 1939, from economic depression and unsettlement between countries, collective security was the best answer. Appeasement was attempted, but it turned out to be a failure.

It’s 4:30am on September 1st, 1939 and the German battleship Schleswig-Holstein awaits for the order to open fire on the Polish garrison of the Westerplatte Fort, Danzig in what was to become the first military engagement of World War II. Meanwhile, sixty two German divisions supported by 1,300 fighter planes prepared for the invasion of Poland. Fifteen minutes later the invasion would take place and spark the beginning of World War II. Two days later at 9am Great Britain would send an ultimatum to Germany, demanding that they pull from Poland or go to war with Great Britain. Four hours later the Ultimatum would expire and Great Britain would officially be at war with Germany on September 3rd, 1939. Six hours later France would also declare war on Germany.
