When I was a kid my parents always took me to Nathdwara to take the blessings of Lord Krishna every now and then because my parents are so religious. So by going there several times I am also attached to that place. Actually Nathdwara is situated in Rajasthan state and I live in the state called Gujarat and in the city called as Ahmedabad. It takes six hours drive from my city to Nathdwara and this is the only nearest place where I could get mental peace. This is very important place for me and my family because it is a tradition of our family that whoever goes there gives free food to the hungry and poor people. We do so because we think that if we do good work in our life we will be allowed by god to go to the heaven. [The two states on the left are Gujarat and Rajasthan. Nathdwara is a small town in Rajasthan, a western state in the Indian subcontinent. The Rajasthan state houses one of the ancient most mountain ranges called the Aravali range. Nathdwara is a part of the Aravali range situated on the banks of the Banas River. Nathdwara means (nath- Lord Krishna, dwara – gate or door) the gate of lord. Nathdwara has a famous temple of Lord Krishna, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, as depicted in one of the longest Sanskrit epics the Mahabharata.

I think that everybody should go to Nathdwara and visit this holy place and the home of Lord Krishna. It is an exciting experience and one of the most worth seeing place in India. If you are from outside India then you should come to this place and the culture that how diverse India is and how people live together coming from different background.

The location of the temple was one that really provided an atmosphere that was heavenly. The architecture and the buildings were meticulously built. The landscape was very beautiful and the atmosphere was very relaxing. I felt at peace and calm when I was at the temple. I also feel a step closer to understanding my culture.
This essay is an ethnographic study of Whole Foods Market which is located in Kensington, London. Whole Foods Market is a niche supermarket that sells high quality organic and natural products at high prices. In this essay, I will provide a brief orientation of ethics with regards to the concepts of Corporate Social Responsibility - macroethics and Business Ethics - microethics and the theoretical frameworks of consequentialism, deontology and virtue ethics. I will be using deontology framework in ethics devised by Immanuel Kant to assess if the marketing strategy and the products sold at Whole Foods Market support their principle of ‘organic and natural’.
Strip Club by Kim Price-Glynn is an analysis of her 14 month ethnography at a strip club named The Lion’s Den. Kim Price-Glynn says she chose The Lion’s Den because of a connection with Angela, a student stripper and cocktail waitress at The Lion’s Den, who told Price-Glynn about an opening there. Angela also said she would give Price-Glynn a strong recommendation. Angela’s recommendation would be a very strong one because of her very good reputation at the Lion’s Den shown by having both titles of being “the club’s darling” and “Steve’s favorite”. So, Kim Price-Glynn had a pretty easy entrance into The Lion’s Den from her connection with Angela.
The topic I am going to discuss is pilgrimages and more specifically I am going to compare the traditional pilgrimages of the Hindu traditions with modern pilgrimages in America. My research question is that pilgrimages are present in many cultures and have been for thousands of years, are these places then intrinsically sacred or do we give them meaning? To answer this I will analyze the traditional Hindu pilgrimage in Hardwar and various untraditional pilgrimage sites in America including natural wonders and tourist attractions. I will be using sources specifically about American pilgrimages and Hindu pilgrimages as well as some sources about spiritual places and the geographies of pilgrimages in general.

Looking by the kid’s actions he seems to be very drawn to the game, his eyes shows that the game that he is playing seems to be very interesting to him. Opening the eyes that wide means that he is trying to interpret every detail the game is giving him causing him to be excluded out of the world around him. His smile shows the accomplishment that he is receiving excitement from whatever is going on in the game. The head and body has a tilt towards the focus of his attraction. James P. Spradley (1979) described the insider approach to understanding culture as "a quiet revolution" among the social sciences (p. iii). Cultural anthropologists, however, have long emphasized the importance of the ethnographic method, an approach to understanding a different culture through participation, observation, the use of key informants, and interviews. Cultural anthropologists have employed the ethnographic method in an attempt to surmount several formidable cultural questions: How can one understand another's culture? How can culture be qualitatively and quantitatively assessed? What aspects of a culture make it unique and which connect it to other cultures? If ethnographies can provide answers to these difficult questions, then Spradley has correctly identified this method as revolutionary.
As I became a teenager, my peer’s influence on my socialization process became extremely apparent. My peers, which included mostly other middle school students at the time, influenced the way I started to dress for school. I started to purchase articles of clothing with flashy trademarks like the rest of my classmates. When I was watching the Abhishek ritual they asked my friend and I if we wanted to try it, but we kindly refused because we were afraid we might do it wrong. We told them that we were students doing research and they helped us with everything by providing us with all kinds of informative brochures and a mini video. I really enjoyed visiting the temple because when you read books and listen to lectures, you just get the gist of it, but when you actually go there and see it for yourself it’s a whole different experience. After seeing how devoted and faithful they were to their God’s it made me see things in a different perspective. I really respect and understand their religious views even if it’s very different from mines.

Specific location of the deities in the Durga temple has provided the god and goddesses a higher level of respect and honor. I tried my best to take as many pictures as I can but unfortunately I was not able to. After seeing everything in the temple I can definitely say that all the Hindus take care of all the things that are close to them. They show and have same amount of respect for all the god and goddesses. In the end, I would just say that my visit to Durga temple was outstanding, and really enjoyed it. I have learned many new things about the Hindus that I was familiar with before. I will definitely go again if I ever get a chance. I am now more curious about finding out some more interesting facts about the Hinduism.
