Some rules to follow when using confrontations are: Members or leaders should know why they are confronting, Confrontation should not contain dogmatic statements concerning who or what a person is, and The person being confronted is likely to be less defensive if told what effect he or she has on others rather than simply being branded with a label or judgment.

Using interventions to bring about change is another technique in group therapy. The therapist moves from observing to using an intervention to bring focus back to the group process. When dealing with interventions, the therapist has two issues to work through. Sometimes, a therapist will and should make interventions. Process reflections shared with the group should only describe what the therapists see.

I’ve learned a great deal in this class that will be helpful in my own treatment and management of my life. The most important things I learned were the different approaches to psychology as well as their therapeutic techniques and methods. I am very interested in finding a practitioner/specialist in behavior therapy and focusing on my behavior. I would also like to take a closer look at rational emotive behavior therapy.

Since the client and clinician work together to focus on treating the patient in the now and build a rational philosophy of life and live a rational lifestyle. Clients can also learn to use the ABC system for understanding their own issues as well as the foundation of those issues. I am interested in managing myself rather than staying in counseling for years.
