ETHiX is here to fix the problem. You may ask, “What is the problem?” Most people see the problem as actually a very good thing; people are becoming more socially aware and ethical, and they want to be informed on the companies they are purchasing products from, but they don’t know how to go about doing this. Unfortunately, there are organizations that these people consume information and products from every day who disregard the environment, abstain from sustainable advances, and forego proper labor practices. People seeking employment are also becoming more socially aware. Internally, some companies are very unethical and disregard Title Seven (“equality”) and OSHA standards; too many people do not realize what their employer is truly like until it is too late. Consumers and people seeking employment need ETHiX because people might choose to not buy or work with certain companies if they knew how bad “said” companies ethical scores (combined total of unethical practices) were. There is an opportunity for ETHiX to breach the market because, as a country, we are beginning an era of social awareness. People are starting to really care about whether the goods they consume are organic, whether companies are engaging in or are involved in child labor, or if certain activities or practices are destroying the ozone. People deserve to know, pre-interview, whether their employer has treated their employees unethically because, with that knowledge, that company is probably not a …show more content…

Our closest competitors are PayScale, Vault, Ethisphere, and Glassdoor. PayScale is a company focused on employee equality in terms of compensation and pay. Vault is a place where employees can rank and review the company they work for. Ethisphere is a company that has shed light on the most ethical and unethical companies in terms of employment. Finally, Glassdoor is a job search website that allows users to view reviews. All of these have a portion of what we bring to the table, but ETHiX is really in a different realm by combining consumer and employment social justice and ethical standards into the same
