Ethical Dilemma
If the accusations against Noca-Cola (N-C) were true and founded then the ethical dilemma of deception and contributing to an epidemic would exist. The information provided about the study doesn't clearly identify that N-C is not decreasing water available to people in need. Based on the results from the thorough investigation identifying that “Noca-Cola uses a very small supply of water in the formula for the soft drinks – and that it is a statistically insignificant amount relative to the water shortages in the country” the ethical dilemma can be possibly removed for me. However, I would need to gather more information on the details of the investigation to determine if there were a ethical challenge in taking this consulting job. That being said I will move forward as if there were not a ethical dilemma present. In this case, I would request the details of the investigation to review in efforts to gain a full understanding of the type of investigation that was conducted. I would make sure that the results were not skewed or containing bias. Understanding this information would be essential to my ability to be effective in this position. I would want to ensure that I could clearly articulate how Noca- Cola was not taking water needed for survival from those in need.
Being an American consultant would probably make a difference in this situation. Not living in India or having a true experience with the culture could have an internal and external impact in my role as an consultant. Internally, I am aware that I would have to expand my knowledge base to gain depth in understanding the culture of the Indian people. Examining the history of N-C in the community and the perception of its members of ...

...ut forth to build community partnerships, and continue to hold community forums for workers, community members and government representatives to keep any new concerns at the forefront so they can be heard and resolved if possible.
Hard work and communication would be essential keys to promote positive relations for Noca-Cola in India. A commitment to improving the community in which the plant is located could speak volumes to the people of India. N-C removing it’s plant from India would cause serious side effects for the community. A decrease in jobs will further depress the stimulation of economy in the community. N-C has the presence and resources to assist with addressing the cyclical drought. Challenges regarding the lack of water supply can be better addressed if N-C, community workers, and government representatives work together to solve the crisis.
