Situation #1: I feel that this could be a correct course because, the salespeople did not include me in their conversation. My conclusion would be different if they were telling me that they were padding the numbers. In this case though, I overheard the conversation. There are a few things going on at home. Kids are almost all out of the house, and his wife has poor health. These things could be contributing to the poor performance. Another possibility is that his motivational factors have changed since he has been hired by the company. He has been working at the company for a long time, maybe we can find out what will motivate him. Perhaps he only needs some recognition or increased responsibility. That would depend on the cause of his performance. The first step in problem solving is awareness.
The first action I would take is to set up an interview. This would be a time for leadership qualities in relationship behavior. I would need to use qualitative performance criteria to determine the cause of the poor performance. If I perform my part of the interview correctly, the salesperson will tell me what he is either doing or not doing. We will actually review performance. We should both give input on performance. We will more than likely discuss his future goals, plans, and commitment to the company.

Advantages: The sales people know that they have a fixed income. They have a sense of security. Also if I were a new sales person I would like to have the straight salary plan until I could get some experience in the field. From a manger’s perspective, it is easier to take care of the needs of the customer, rather than be sales focused. It would also be much easier to reassign sales people if need be. They would more than likely put up resistance to being moved from a territory, especially if there was a relationship customer

Just before I am about to launch the new product, I was informed by reliable lab 's research that the product could cause moderate to severe dizziness and diarrhea in a small group of individuals. However, any allegation of negative effects is unfounded and the research from my own in-house lab

In this case, the right thing would be to tell the customer to go to a competitor and buy the product for cheaper. Personally, I would never do such a thing. Instead, I would try to gather more information from this customer and make a decision that would keep me on the right side of the law and public sentiment. However, there are no clear rules or policies to guide leaders and determine what is right or wrong (McNamara, n.d). It is not enough to be good, or not lie. TQL can put a single sales supervisor into place and divide teams and appoint team leaders immediately. Due to the lack of managerial experience among the account executives the Executive Sales Managers may wish to hold the sales supervisor position until a manager can be placed and properly trained.
