There are many people that would say that education is the most important thing and others would not agree with that statement and there are lots of reasons for that. That is because students learn and approach education differently than others. Some of the reasons are that many of the parents don't know how to help their children, students are not engaged in the work and we let the media think for us.
A lot of students no matter if they are in middle school, high school or even college they can't be successful students because they do not have parents that can sit down with them and help them on homework. Richard says "I was oddly annoyed when I was unable to get parental help with a homework assignment. The night my father tried to help me with an arithmetic exercise, he kept reading the instructions each time more deliberately....I'll try to figure it out some more by myself ". (Rodriquez 195) This quote shows that it's not that the parents don't want to help their child with their school work it is mostly because they don't know how to especially if the parents does not know English or is not educated. So leaves students with no choice than to start doing everything on our own at home. We become ambitious not only does that make difficult for the parents but also it makes it difficult for students too. It would be good to have to have someone to help us or even to ask if we have done our homework, maybe it can be a reminder for us that we had homework. If they do all that it can motivate the student to do better in school, have good grades in all the classes. However help to motivate ourselves as well as to motivate our parents. Parents are very important to a child's life they influence us which can be in a positive or negati...

...d to stop letting the media making us feel like, that we can’t do what the same things as the working class for example, to be doctors and to get out masters degrees that gets in the way of our abilities for doing what we want to do and that can be very frustrating. Students want to be equal as every other student even though we know that all of us are all different in many ways. If we stop letting the media think for us it would make us feel better about ourselves, just focus on being educated and get the education you want.
As shown above all the reasons on why the reasons on why students learn and approach education differently, if you don't want to go back and see the reason why that was let me tell you. Students learn and approach education differently because they lack their parents help with homework, not engaged in the work and the media controls our lives.
Education is the backbone of most nations. Proper teaching to students ensure things such as better technology, better fund distributions, running operations like businesses, military training, and the government. Sadly, our nation is very low on the ladder when it comes to education. Students First has pointed out that most children are reading below their grade level, are respectively the 20th and 27th best nation when it comes to Math and Science, and there is no signifigant change. Americans are however getting an education, though lower than against other nations America still are able to make a living with their lives. There is much needed improvement, but at least Americans are not completely ignorant. Citizens can make a living with their lives and though not as intelligent as someone from Korea or Japan there is no way to dispute that our education system is doing
Education has been the pathway to a better life for many years now. It is full of opportunity for many Americans. Education is not for every child but it is necessary in the early part of kids’ lives to learn the important things. Thanks to our government, we have public education in which we have free kindergarten through 12th grade. Public education is paid by through our taxes. Because of this, the government runs the schools and that can cause some problems. There will always be room for improvement in the public education system. I think the biggest thing we can do to improve K-12 schooling right now, is to go to a year round school year schedule.
Even our President Barack Obama has spoken about how important it is to make sure the children are being educated to their fullest. Learning the ability to think critically and problem-solve gives way towards national prosperity. Book, Higher Education. It is easy to see that there is a strong urge to get the best education you can receive for a reason. Education is and will always be an important factor in our society....
Even though people say that you can’t teach old dogs new tricks, everyday is a learning experience and your never too old to learn something new. Education is something that you can never have enough of. There is always something new and improved for people to learn about. Especially with the way technology is developing these days. Even though education is just one of the several social institutions, I think that it is very important. Family however is more important but it seemed that several students were already working on papers having to do with family.
Many parents are also bothered over the force of homework on the connection between their kids and teens.... ... middle of paper ... ... Think about how much homework we’ve done since we were in kindergarten, how many times we’ve stayed up and woke up half-awake, how many times we’ve kept others awake, and how much paper we’ve wasted. If you think that is a lot, think of all of the students around the world doing the same.
To say that education isn 't an important asset in our society today would be fallacious. It would bring the thought to mind that education is just something that we use because we are forced into it. From a very young age we are drilled into our heads that we will get nowhere in life without first getting the proper education that we need and choosing a career path that will lead us into successfully supporting a family for the rest of our lives. The way we are brought into education as young children into adults can be both a gift and a curse. For life, education can either bring us to persons we want to be, or make us these type of zombies who live in this virtual reality of unhappiness.
Lengthened school days help to create a supportive environment for studying. After school, it is difficult for children to concentrate on homework. Many children’s homes are too crowded, and they are usually distracted by parents, friends, TV, or games. There are many other interesting things that they can do out of school, so students forget about what their teachers told them to study. Also, parents cannot help too much with their homework and only waste children’s time or give incorrect answers. My father tried to help me with a math course. I could not understand his explanations, because he was not a professional tutor. Finally, he confused me even more, and I had to make an appointment with my math teacher.
Recent studies on parental involvement in education have found that there are many benefits for both the student and the adult when parents become involved in their children’s education. Without parent support, it is very difficult for a child to be motivated. From what I have seen growing up, only a small percentage of students are self-motivated, so it is absolutely vital that parents assist in the motivation process. I found this table to be particularly interesting and important.
Although homework may seem like drudgery, the hard work that is put into homework may pay off in the long run. In the article, “Does homework really work for students?” Jacqueline Carey, the mother of seventh grade student Micah Carey, stated that “homework gives [students] a good foundation for when they move on further in school” (Johnson). Not only that but according to Donyall Dickey, principle at Murray Hill Middle School, “if students do not acquire things in class, they will acquire them through homework” (Johnson). As we can see homework helps and prepares us for higher grade levels while in primary school that can possibly prepare us for college. It also helps us to remember the materials that were taught in class. Another reason homework can be beneficial is the fact that it can prepare us for tests and the dreadful pop-quiz that a teacher may randomly give us. This fact was proven, according to a 2006 study by Harris Cooper, director of Duke University’s Program in education, in the article “Homework or Not? That is the (Research) Question”. The studies instituted that “students who had homework performed better on class tests compared to those who did not” (DeNisco). Another compelling thing about homework, are the qualities a skills th...
Children go to school for seven hours a day, when teachers make them do homework it causes them to get stressed. Furthermore if children understand what they learned at school why do they need to repeat it at home? If children are struggling on a certain subject, teachers should be able to help them directly, not with homework because giving them homework on something they don't know anything about is counterproductive. Instead private tutoring could be something schools provide for failing students and not homework.
Education has and will always be an issue because; it is consistently shifting with the needs of students. A true education involves more than the core classes of reading, writing, math, and science. It is learning about the world we live in and how to live in it. A true education is also pursuing what you want to do in life and finding what you are personally interested in. Education should be something that we strive for and something that “prevents both the revenge and the madness.” (Mann).
Education is very important in the sense that in today’s society, there is not much success without education. Education allows us to grow and learn intellectually. It gives us the ability to enhance our perception of the world as we see it, and construct our own views of that perception into our core values. Just try and imagine a world without education.
Education is essential for everyone. Education plays a critical role in the development of a generation of individuals that is virtuous and in turn contributes to the development of good people. Through education, a person is able to develop mentally, but also physically and socially. To the youths, education is important as it helps them to develop the principles of life, enables them to make the correct career decisions and also prepares them in the pursuit of the goals that they may have set for themselves in life. I strongly believe that a good, heck, or even a regular education is a right that cannot be taken away. Education is a right and not a privilege.
Education gives us the ability to change our life by opening successful pathways. Education provides us a better future because learning new things and majoring in things that we like could give us better opportunity. Education is the right pathway to a better life because it gives us knowledge that would help us in the future. Education should be prioritized over issues because education is always important. Education is a very important need in our lives because people are able to achieve and strive for a better life style.
Parents are an important ingredient to the perfect education. Parents who aren't involved in their children's education only impede the efforts made by teachers and students to create a good education. These parents are oftentimes uninterested with their children's education as a whole. To achieve perfection in the educational system, parents have to take an active role in that education. Parents who don't include themselves in their children's education aren't always informed about the student's progress, aren't aware of the current curriculum, and don't have any idea of the student's strengths and weaknesses in school. An involved parent is informed and sometimes included in the decision-making process. Parents who take an active role are kept informed of the progress made by their children. The parents know the curriculum and assist the children with their nightly studies, and can discuss their children's feelings about education.
