Recommended: Efforts taken to protect endangered wildlife

Turtles are reptiles that come in all different shapes and sizes. There are plenty of types of turtles like the Box Turtle. Turtles are popular pets that make great pets. Many turtle species are endangered. Their habitat such as their diet is very important for any turtle to survive. They can die if they are not fed the right, healthy food. It is very important what food the turtle eats. There a variety of foods that people can feed to their pet turtles. Different types of food that have different types of vitamins and nutrients such as calcium. Calcium is very important for the turtles. The food given to two turtles changed their behavior over the two weeks. Turtles have existed for a very long time. They have existed for about 215 million years. Turtles have been alive a lot longer than mammals,crocodiles,birds,snakes and lizards. They can live up to about 200 years but most live until they are in their mid 70s. Turtles have a hard shell that protects them like a shield. This upper shell is called a carapace.The lower shell called a ‘plastron. The shell is attached to their spine and lower ribcage. It is different from other animal’s shells like the crab. The turtle’s shell is permanent, it cannot come off. A turtle’s shell makes them special and unique animals. The shell of a turtle protects them from harm. Many people believe that the shell has helped turtles survive for million of years. The top part of the shell is called the carapase. The bottom part is called plastron. The shell has sixty bones that are all together. Because turtles have so many bones on the shell, it is very important to feed them a healthy diet and give them a lot of calcium and protein. This will make them strong and healthy. In conclusion, turtles are reptiles. They are endangered species. This is why it is so important to feed turtles a healthy diet so that they survive. They can die if they are not fed the right, healthy food. It is very important what food the turtle eats. Giving turtles healthy food and more calcium can affect the behavior of pet turtles.This is why they need to have a balance diet of protein, calcium and vitamins. Calcium and protein should be what they mostly eat because it it is the most important nutrient for turtles. The calcium and protein can help the shell become strong especially cause they need their shell to survive. When they don’t get fed the way they want they go on a hunger strike. They could go a long time without eating foods.

The tadpoles have a small rasping mouth suited especially for scraping algea from the bottom of ponds. Depending on the species, it can take a few weeks to a year or more for the tadpoles to become fully grown. Not all frogs hatch as tadpoles. Some species of frogs hatch as froglets. Froglets look just like adult frogs but are a lot smaller. Froglets don't go through a metamophosis. Most species that hatch as froglets are found in dry places. Frogs who live in dry places where rains are seasonal have to grow up quickly because a tadpole will die if their temporary pond dries up. Adult frogs can live in water or on land, but it always needs to be near water so its respiratory organs don't dry out.
