Japan is my favorite country. I like Japanese animations, lifestyles and cultures. Studying in Japan is the best opportunity to gain all of these. APU, located at Beppu, is on a mountain so its environment is good for study such as the good atmosphere and beautiful landscape. In my opinion APU is an interesting university that attaches many people to attend. I have three reasons why I want to attend there that are I love Japan, APU is an international university and senior recommend this university.
Firstly, I like Japan such as cultures, lifestyles, animations and artists. The first impression that make me interest in Japan is animation. "Digimon Adventure" is the first animation that I am impressed. Although it doesn't have many scenes of Japan, it is the first step to other animations. I found many cultures, lifestleyes or festivals in these animations. I think animations are the beginning point of all. When I am in high school, I am interested in Japanese artiste and I can see Japanese lifestyles or cultures, which I can see these when they perform in festival or TV program that...
This book, Japanamerica focuses on how the Japanese popular culture influencing the American culture. The author, Roland Kelts take a neutral prospective in order to create this book, which is done by interviewing many significant individual who took part in establishing the popular culture in both Japan and America. Kelts investigates why the phenomenon of Japanophilia, or the “outsider’s infatuation with Japan’s cultural character” (pg.5), is occurring especially in the United States. Even though Japanophilia phenomenon arose before the twentieth century, it is increasing in number because of the anime, manga, videogames, and other medium of popular culture.
Through all these modern developments in the past century, Japan’s culture from the past has not been lost. Buy tickets to enjoy a rich play with a one of a kind venture to the past. There are well-known venues located in Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Fukuoka, and more.
The five aspects which we will examine that create Japan’s culture are: political, economic, military, social, and religious. We will take a look at some of the general facts and information about Japan and its history, more specifically, the events that led the country to its involvement in World War II. After reading this, it is my hope that many will have a better understanding of a foreign country they may not know much about.
Anime, or Japanese animation, is a style of animation most recognizable by characters with large eyes and beautifully detailed backgrounds. Once people watch anime, they will find besides spectacular animation, anime has complex characters and deep stories, many of which teach morals and values. Anime is very popular in Japan; it has also gained a following in America and is beginning to hit the mainstream.
Since my cultural experience was on the Japanese culture, I decided I would continue on with that interest and write my paper about the Japanese culture therefor giving me a chance to do more research about the culture. The Japanese culture is really rich and diverse, there is a particular hierarchy or structure to the Japanese culture, Denison (2002) stated that “Japanese culture is structured around black and white norms for acceptable group behavior. People who do not function by there norms are viewed as outsiders who lack legitimate status. Black and white expectations of behavior produce equally clear cut conformity, resulting in high harmony and certainly of outcome, trust is early through continuous conformity”.This is a huge and really important aspect of their culture because it governs their social standing, interacting with others and the way they are seen, and when it comes to your social standing in the culture, the way you are seen and respected by those around you is very important.
...f Indonesian students coming to Japan as international students. Starting from 2004, there were 1451 Indonesian students studying in Japan. It reached its peak in 2012 when there were 2276 students coming to Japan. They might get scholarships from either Japan state or private companies. But, their decision to come and to study in Japan could be taken into account as a symbol of trust for Japan State. They believe that Japan offers safety and stability for them as students. They believe that Japan offers a better education quality system for them. Whatever their reasons are, they trust in Japan as a new country with a good image. If we can take a look back for a while, this is what Japan State wants. Japan attracts students to study in Japan as it hopes that they will come back to their own countries as cultural ambassadors who build friendship for both countries.
Statistics evidently demonstrates that anime will only achieve additional popularity as an entertainment form and will also be acknowledged fully as a form of art in the near future. As anime flourishes, many individuals who watch anime will possess the ability to gain insight into controversial topics simply by watching anime. One may coherently improve oneself by watching anime and Western society as a whole no doubt will benefit as a result of anime’s rise in popularity. Furthermore the work that the Anime organizations do directly impact Westerners as they monetarily fund charities in order to support those in need. The further development of anime and its indoctrination into Western culture will evidently continue to benefit Western society as a collective
Did you know that most of the cartoon shows that are on television come from Japan? Japanese popular culture has made a huge hit all over the world. There are many forms of popular art in Japan. Some know forms are anime, music, and manga. These are the most notable ones and are also what makes up most of their fan base for pop culture. Some other forms include cosplaying, contemporary art, and fashion. Cosplaying is short for “costume play” and it means to dress up as a character from sources like anime, manga, film, and games. There are a few places in Japan where people usually cosplay, including Akihabara, Harajuku and Shibuya. In present day, it is almost impossible to not see some form of Japanese pop culture in our country. There are even festivals and conventions held just for it which happens in many places over the world every year. Most people who attend these events will often cosplay as a character from something most people would know. Japanese pop culture is also one of the biggest exports of Japan. Japanese popular culture is the most attractive part of Japan, which has created a big impact around the world.
What will I do for the rest of my life? Every person asks this question at some stage of their life, usually during their later teenage years. As a high school junior, I am now asking myself this question. After considerable thought, I have devised a tentative plan for my future. I realize that some of these plans and goals may change over time, but with a plan, the first steps of the journey can begin. To prepare me for the journey, I have taken very challenging high school curriculum, such as Honors and Advanced Placement courses. These classes will not only assist in my admission to college, but have also helped me to develop strong study skills and time management.
The article titled 'Teaching Responsibility'; deals with the issue of student preparedness after high school. The article brings up the recent case of Jonathan Govias who is suing his private high school stating that the school did not prepare him for university. The article goes on to give two examples, one in Virginia and one in Ontario of how these types of problems are being dealt with. The editor agrees s that the school system should be held more responsible for its graduates, but makes it clear that lawyers only complicate matters. I believe that Jonathan Govias' case should be heard in a court of law due to the fact that schools have a certain responsibility and if it is not met then something needs to be done about it. I am in total disagreement with the Ontario's school plan to get rid of this problem and am a total fan of the Virginia pilot project, because unlike the Ontario plan they are actually looking to help the students and not their own pockets.
Anime is an art form as it expresses cultural phenomena about Japan and its people. Like most other countries, cartoon has existed in Japan throughout the 20th century and onward, which began with traditional drawings and comics that dealt with political, social, and historical themes. However, what separates anime from the rest is that the anime included a huge portion of Japanese culture within it. In every series that aired, they include special holidays like Natsu Matsuri—summer festival, tea ceremony, traditional clothing such as kimono, etc.
You have already asked the question "are you interested in Japanese culture? “There is a basis behind why you had to ask yourself this question. Anyone who answered no to this question will be incapable to even take any movement to actually make learning Japanese a reality. You also asked yourself "would you consider to study in Japan? “ You would not have gotten to this point in this book if you had answered no to that question. The reality is that it takes a certain personality type to want to do something, and a whole different type of person to actually do it. Good for you for being the type of person that takes action as opposed to wanting to take action. Looking back, it can be said that people who attempted to learn Japanese and failed miserably, probably did not truly train their body, mind and spirit. By going over all the initial questions to see if you are of the right mindset to learn Japanese all the way to the end, you already have a glimpse of what is required to get to the end of the finish line. Learning Japanese has a tangible aspect to it. Yet any activity that you prepare for in advance mentally will end with better
I am applying to Seoul National University to continue the development of my critical learning skills and to broaden my knowledge base. I feel I am now ready to complete a degree, and understand what is required to function successfully in our environment. I realize that to advance from the world of undergraduate college curriculum to that of an atmosphere of higher education in graduate training, takes much of a prospective graduate student??s time and effort.
Finally, comparing Japanese culture to American culture is a very daunting task. Japan is a country which is thousands of years older than the United States. Although one might think the Japanese seem to be nothing like Americans, they are outwardly very much the same. For example, the Japanese listen to music, watch movies, play sports, and go to work and to school the same way Americans do. But it is the "kokoro," which is the mind and soul, of a Japanese person that is truly different than that of an American. This "kokoro" is something that can not be easily explained or understood. It is an awareness which one slowly receives as he or she is truly immersed in the culture of the rising sun of Japan.
My interest for Japan and its culture was first sparked in 2003 at the age of 8 years old. Picking up my first pair of chopsticks to eat homemade sushi was a unique experience and led to Japanese cuisine becoming my favourite. Since then I have made sushi on a regular basis and attended a sushi cooking class to further my knowledge of more technically complex dishes and the traditions that pair with them. This part of Japanese culture, alongside the fascinating contrast of ancient customs with state of the art technological advances, is what continues to fuel my interest in the country.
