All throughout my high school career I have taken care to watch my grades. I figure a way to work with my busy schedule to finish my homework and practice. I dedicate myself to passing my classes, while putting one hundred and ten percent on the field or floor. I have become very passionate about guard, the techniques, and the family I make. My academic qualifications are high, I participate in other extracurricular activities, I am very passionate about guard, and my future plans include college and definitely guard. I am academic Qualified for the scholarship because, my weighted GPA is 3.9, and my un-weighted GPA is 3.3. All my classes are either honors or AP, except some of my electives. My honors courses is a larger work load then regular classes. They also include a higher standard that is needed to be continuously tested and ensured. A major circumstance was when my father lost his job and we got foreclosed on. It was tough to focus on school with chaos back at home. I overcame this challenge by staying with friends at school and focusing my free time with after school activities. At school I am very involved with extracurricular activities scholastic, recreational, and civic activities. As a scholastics activity I am a member of our schools National Honor Society, or NHS, which takes the brightest at the school. In NHS we help the school and community in different projects anyway we can. We are dedicated to helping people in need or a little extra help. Another activity I participate in is Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, or AFJROTC, which can be considered a civic activity because we have a mission “to develop citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community.” To achieve this missio... ... middle of paper ... ...ce to receive it. Having a scholarship from WGAZ means a lot to me; it gives me hope that I have a future in guard. I need this scholarship so I have a brighter future in guard and will be able to enjoy the rest of my life with a passion. Winter guard is the sport of arts which without it my life would be so different and unoriginal. Winter Guard Arizona scholarship is a wonderful opportunity for guards who need extra help in life. I believe I deserve this scholarship because I have the academic qualifications, I am very involved in my schools’ extracurricular activities, I am very passionate and dedicated about guard, and my future plans include college and definitely guard for as long as possible. WGAZ is a group I want to be involved in for the rest of my life as long as I can be a part of a winter guard team; I truly hope I am able to receive this scholarship.
