As a JusticeCorps member, I assist litigants complete forms related to their case in family law, housing law, and other pending legal forms. The program permits me to know how to work in a stressful environment where many people want their legal matters to be solved. I experienced many litigants coming to me in tears to help them out because they do not understand the court procedures and legal documents that they have received. Since I interact with litigants in a one-on-one direct service, it makes it easier for me to explain the legal process of their cases. When I need to translate litigant's Spanish declaration to English, I am proud that I am helping them get a step closer toward finishing their case. Helping people going through divorces, paternity, restraining orders or trying to get custody of their children can be a difficult challenge. When I started the program, I only manage to assist one litigant. Returning to the judicial world of the Bronx Family Court as a judge, after years of working in administration, Judge Richard Ross is astonished to find a distinctly more disjointed situation than the one he left. The relationship between the Armenian client and the legal professional is a complex one. It is full of issues that go beyond giving them legal advice or filing a law suit on their behalf, it includes issues relating to a person’s cultural context. In fact, generally the actual legal issues sometimes become secondary, or at least not as central in the person’s priorities. At the beginning, such a relationship can cause great frustration and waste of time in the legal professional’s attempt to provide the appropriate service. Eventually, these communication issues can cause delays in providing professional service, and lead to extra unnecessary legal expenses. The correct understanding of a client’s cultural situation by the legal professional can lead to a higher quality of service, and lower costs. As difficult and complicated as this situation may sound, it is still not impossible. In fact, most experienced professionals learn over the years to relate to the Armenian culture.
During the early years, children go through crucial development stages, and continuous, quality early childhood education can have a lasting, valuable effect on the overall development of children. High-quality early childhood development programs that offer developmentally adequate curricula, allow children to formulate specified cognitive skills at the suitable age. Developmentally adequate curricula assist in the development of cognitive skills which help them acquire new skills and knowledge. Preschool provides children the opportunities to take part in activities they wouldn’t typically do at home such as arts and crafts, science activities, sand and water play and music and movement. These activities can enhance children's’ lives, increase their development and supply them with the tools they need for the future.
I would like to start this paper by saying what a great piece of literature it is. When I started reading this book, I finished it in one day for the simple fact that I could not put it down. This book gave me a whole new view of life and how sacred it is. It also taught me how to not live my life in fear of dying, but embrace death while living. Of the many lessons, the one that reached out a grabbed my mind along with my heart was the lesson on emotion. In this paper, my goal is to reflect this lesson of Professor Morrie Schwartz to all who read my work. I will do this by first stating the main points given by a dying man on emotions and how we should absorb them every day and continue with my own personal experience of his words.
This reflective essay will lay emphasis on one of the learning needs I have developed during my two week taster placement in hospital. Reflection helps an individual build upon their skills and makes room for self-criticism as he or she can contemplate upon actions and make relevant changes (Taylor, 2000). I will be applying the “What”, “So what” and “Now what” model of reflection by Driscoll (2000) in this piece of work because it is a more coherent and comprehensible approach to follow when writing a reflective account and is also an easier guide to writing reflections. The learning need I chose to reflect on from my learning plan is having a better understanding of diabetes and the 6 basic medications used in treating the condition since it is a common illness on the ward I am have been allocated on for my first placement. The timescale set for achieving this objective was by the end of my two week placement that is from 27th January to 9th February and I achieved it with the help of a host of factors. In this assignment, all the names of the patients and wards have been omitted and indicated with letters and numbers for confidentiality reasons as stated in the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) code of conduct (2008).
