Obesity is the epidemic of the twenty-first century, seen as the biggest nutritional disorder in Western countries. The World Health Organization (WHO), confirmed to be the biggest problem of unrecognized public health that society has faced. It is a chronic disease with huge prevalence in developed countries,although in developing countries it has registered a significant growth of obese people. Also, affects men and women of all ethnic and ages groups , reduces the quality of life and have high rates of morbidity and mortality. Obesity is a disease that is a major risk factor for emergence, development and worsening of other diseases. For the diagnosis in adults, the parameter used most commonly is the body mass index (BMI). The BMI is calculated dividing the patient's weight by height squared. It is the standard used by the World Health Organization (WHO). A person who has BMI of 30 or more is generally considered obese. The World Health Organization defines obesity as an excess of body fat accumulation in adipose tissue, with implications for human health. There are many causes of obesity. However, the excess weight basically is linked the bad eating habits, sedentary lifestyle consequence of low physical activity and genetic factors .

People with poor eating habits often eat too much sugar and fat,instead they do not put fruit and vegetables as part of daily meals frequently.The fat and sugar in excess provide additional energy to the body. If the level of physical exercise is not enough to burn all this excess energy, the fat ingested will be stored in form of body fat. Whatever the degree of obesity, this is born the combination of internal predisposition with the external factors such as bad eating habits and lack of physical activity. In proportions greater or smaller, both factors are always present. Under these conditions, the loss of weight must begin by a restoration of the metabolism; moreover, change of habits. This requires a very constant hard work. Since,the unbalance body energy that resulted in excess kilograms took months or years to develop. For this reason, it takes a long time to scroll through the reverse path that would result in weight loss. People should not believe in pills, miracle diets or sellers of extraordinary capsules. The objective knowledge, common sense and determination through reeducation of eating habits are definitely the best guarantees of success.
