Education Online Versus Standard Model
The development of technology and adaptation of social attitudes toward distance learning of the past decade caused significant changes in the acceptance of alternate teaching models. In universities, for example, established familiar education setting such as libraries filled with hard bound copies of written word are giving way to digital copies. With the worldwide communications and technological advances at a constant rate creating more opportunities for higher education than ever before. Online education from prominent universities like Harvard to less well known institutions like South University. The success of people attending online courses opened up new opportunities for many people who find it difficult to continue their education in traditional colleges or universities (Mazoue, 2014).
Traditional education and online education actually have a many similarities, but on the other hand, there are distinguishing factors that differentiate them from one another. Those factors are: transportation, housing, convenience, time, reduced distraction environment and social relationships good or bad - all this marks benefits and disadvantages essential to many when considering any educational system (Christensen & Eyring, 2011).
Education is the premier investments an person can make toward a positive financial future. Making tuition a fundamental factor for selection for many undergraduates, time becomes a key factor for individuals seeking Masters level degree. Many within the continuing education sphere are entrenched in the workforce seeking advancement in their socioeconomic position.
