The Tutsi was the tribe that controlled Rwanda until the Europeans left. After the Europeans left the Hutu gained power and hated the Tutsi. This hatred lead them to trying to kill all the Tutsi. Though unsuccessful they did kill many Tutsi in the time they were in power. The Hutu managed to kill 800,000 Tutsis.

There was many instances of human rights abuse in the film. One instance being when the manager of the hotel has to get supplies, and when he gets there there are Tutsi in cages and are being beaten. Another is when people all over the country are forced out of their homes and will be killed if they are Tutsi. These problems could have been avoided if the Europeans didn’t put one of the two tribes as leaders. The reason Paul was not subject to these punishments is because of all the decisions he made.

There are many times in Hotel Rwanda where Paul had to make decisions to save his family and sometimes his friends. One of these times is when they are taken from their home and are taken to the hotel ,and the guards find that the people that he is with are Tutsi. He then has to give the guards money and beer for everyone to be let go. A short time after the last incident is when the military came to the hotel and wanted to get the guest list to get the name of all the Tutsi in the hotel. paul then asked the owner of the hotel to stop the people that are giving weapons to the Hutu.

...ain characters in this movie is. I would give Paul Ruseasaganda a 99% for what he did for all the people in the hotel and his family. Colonel Oliver would get a 87% I understand he couldn’t do much but he could have at least tried to do something earlier. General Bizimungu would get a 57% he needed a bribe to do anything that involved moving a muscle. George Rutaganda deserves a 1% for helping paul get supplies but he did lead a lot of people to kill Tutsi people.

This movie was a very detailed story about genocide in Rwanda. The story was well displayed and the morale was very enlightening. The ending was very good where he learned he can care for more than his family. The representation of how many people were actually killed in the conflicts. This was an amazing movie overall an it most definitely correctly portrayed the struggles and hardships of the genocide.
