The complexity of the dissertation subject is related to multiple theories involved in its composition, in studying the effect of power distance and collectivist cultural dimension in the process of organizational learning inside the millennials generation in SME in South China, it is fundamental to research the development of the concepts in the past up to the point where this study originate. As established by Easterby-Smith, Thorpe and Jackson (2012) students should review the evolution of the topic and developed a comprehension of what is ahead in term of pushing forward the knowledge related to the subject. How has your problem or question been studied in the past? Before exploring the dissertation question, it is essential to dissect its composition and separate the different elements in order to research the literature for each theory composing the study. In the case under scrutiny there are three main components that need to be research, organizational learning, cultural dimensions, and the intrinsic composition of cultural values of the millennials or the KU (酷) generation inside the Chinese society. Each of those required their own literature review since they have been evolving individually for decades and followed their particular path. There is no research combining completely those constituents, the closest found were, Moore (2005) “Genration ku: Individualism and China’s millennial youth”, Shapero and Eckerd (2013) “Managing China's millenials consideration for multinationals”, and Chen, Sun and McQueen (2010 “The impact of national cultures on structured knowledge transfer”. As determined it is almost mandatory to utilize a mixed methods due to the composition of the question and the aim of the research, a mixed sample and composed data collection will bring complexity and force to develop a clear and precise design. Hopefully, the contribution of the other students and the instructor will bring appropriate guidance to this process.
