Constituting the initial selection of candidates for the control group was comprised from a selection of young people well in the range of what was considered millennial in order to later compare the result of Chinese millennials with the people born before 1980. It was fundamental to select university students since the focus of the research was to demonstrate the interaction inside the knowledge transfer process. Candidate had to be involved in learning activities to ensure their implication in a cognitive activity and being recently implicated in some explicit and somehow tacit knowledge altercation. The second assembly of individuals were selected inside the same establishment in a desire to respect the regional influence and avoid a bias due to the diversity of the population in such a vast country. Retaining 273 undergraduate students inside a regional university selected in three different levels from sophomore, junior and senior level was in accordance with the methodology and the compilation of an accurate sample size. The subsequent group compose of 100 staffs of the university with no discrimination regarding their occupation; teachers, professors and administrative personal composed the majority of the sample. The only crucial criterion was their age to avoid the pollution of the sample with millennials putting in jeopardy the validity of the results. The collection was chosen in a mid-size university in Zhanjiang, Guangdong attracting from a wide rural area. Implication of the vice-dean of the language faculty was instrumental to recollect a large group of employees and professors to fill the questionnaires. In selecting the interview type it was fundamental to correlate its component with the types of data pursued, a semi-structured interview was preserved as the most suited to be used in this study. A completely un-structured interview would have provided evasive answer not suitable for the aim of this research; in opposition a structured one would avoid the possibility for the interviewee to postulate supplemental information crucial for the nature of the study related to culture and knowledge transfer. The multiple subjects under scrutiny demanded the possibility for the respondents to display a variety of behaviour conducive to the comprehension of the amalgamation of all the elements, national culture, KT, and generational integration.
