Mahabodhi Temple is not only the place for tourists to visit, but more importantly, it's a place for Buddhists practice their religion. Thus, keeping the traditional design is like keeping the holy spirit for this sacred place. However, more and more pilgrims come to Bodh Gaya, it would be easier for Buddhists and tourists to access if the surrounding area of Mahabodhi Temple and Bodhi tree expand a little bit more, as well as the development of infrastructure and public amenities. That would be the only thing that I would change and improve. Other than that, keeping the original structure of the temple is conserving its universal value.
