Do you think that drugs should be used in sports? Did you know that Ryan Braun got caught using drugs? He got suspended for 50 games because he took drugs. That just shows you what happens if you take drugs and they catch you. Last year 3 MLB players got in trouble for using performance enhancing drugs. Some people agree that players should not use performance enchaining drugs because they are cheating so that they can be the best. However some people think that players should be able to use performance enchaining drugs. As you can see performance enchaining drugs is a very conserveratal argument today.
Today some people think that athletes should not be able to use performance enchaining drugs because they are cheating. If you cheat in a sport then you should be embarrassed because you are a cheater. If an athlete gets elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame and they used performance enchaining drugs then they should be taken out right away because they cheated. If a player decides to use performance enchaining drugs then they should be suspended for the rest of the season because they are cheating. As many people know the saying goes “cheaters never win.”
One time at the summer Olympics 40 plus Chinese swimmers got caught doping and they all got disqualified (procon.org). Also on time in the Olympics an athlete died because he doped (procon.org). If they let the athletes use performance enchaining drugs then it could affect their long term health (procon.org). Some people think that the athletes should be able to use drugs because they have the same rights as other people that take drugs do. It would be unfair for the people that don’t use drugs to play a game against players that use drugs (procon.org). If they think that an a...

In American high schools across the country, many people buy, sell, and use drugs. In addition, these people influence everyone around them. On these campuses, some of the people influenced by this illegal activity are sports players. One of the sports most affected is baseball. Doping in baseball is wrong because it ruins baseball's reputation, it negatively influences the athlete's health, and the drugs are bad for young people who hold up athletes as role models.
...er and stronger as said before. I mean look at Lance Armstrong he took performance enhancing drugs for his medical condition (also to help him because he was not good enough) and what happened he won so that is proof that with performance enhancing drugs you get faster and stronger no matter what. Yeah i know he got caught and and consequences occurred but why does that matter because one day performance enhancing drugs will be allowed in Major League Baseball, National Football League, Soccer, Olympics, etc. No matter what anyone says i believe since so many players use them they’ll just give up on the consequences and just let them use it and play with performance enhancing drugs. On the other hand they could just ban people for life because of medical conditions , then once this happens people will listen and stop taking drugs so they can do what they love.
Anabolic steroids have been abused by Major League Baseball players for years, it’s time to forever ban the use of Performance Enhancing Drugs before they ruin America’s past time. Why should athletes be able to cheat when teammates or rivals are competing with honest effort? Every year records are broken and new heights are achieved, the game of baseball is very simple yet very humble, and to deceive the game you love, forever will you be punished. Let me inform you with the origin in which PEDs were first used and where they came from, regulation, and a possible solution.
I personally think Performance Enhancing Drugs should not be allowed in sports for many unsafe and unfair reasons. PED’s are currently illegal and cannot be used. Many people agree with this rule and some
When people think of sports, people might wonder if the greatest people in sports used performance-enhancing drugs.
...use performance-enhancing drugs for many reasons, justifying the benefits while ignoring the risks. We as a society do not condone drug use in sports, but at the same time we look the other way for the star athlete giving him a slap on the hand and warning him not to do it again. I believe as long as society puts the idea that being the best player and having the best team is the # 1 priority, the use of performance-enhancing drugs will only get worse. We will get the upper hand on the use of illegal drugs in sports only when we as society look at sports for exactly what they are, just games.
But it is also a good thing for the players to be able to access a better athlete of themselves. To find a part of them that they would never even imagine. We need to stop worrying about everyone being the same person, because let’s face it they are not. Everyone is a different person and have different ability’s. if someone wants to be better than what they are now and they think they can become a better athlete, let them use steroids to be where they want to be in life. Who are we to judge someone on their lives decision? There are possible risks of a person having problems with their life later on but that is the person’s own risk of taking the drug. We should let the athletes chose to use steroids instead of controlling them on their every move through life. We do not own them, yes we are there boss, but we can’t control them. When I say we I am referring to the people on the board of the Sports Association. Yes, the teams have bought them for a price they could not refuse, but the owner of the team and the board won’t own them as people. We all have freedom, but it’s what you do with the freedom is what makes you. If it does not affect other peoples lives, then why should it matter if a player wants to take steroids? It does not change the way you live your life. People want to see you succeed in life, especially the fans want to see
The use of performance enhancing drugs (PEDs) is known to be used widely throughout sports, and many famous players have used them to aid them in their success. An example of that is at the time of the steroid era (1980s-2000s) in baseball, when many famous players like Mark McGwire, Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, and many others used PEDs to hit a crazy amount of home runs that broke records (“The Steroid Era”). Some players feel as if they need to use them in order to earn a spot on the team because of how much an advantage doping is (Rosenberg). That being said, PEDs are illegal, and players who take them are penalized harshly (Rosenfeld). Most people believe that performance enhancing drugs should be illegal because it causes health problems
In sports many people think it is ok to use Performance Enhance Drugs to be the best player of all time.Performance Enhance Drugs are substances used to improve any form of activity performance in humans. For example, Bruce Irvin the defensive end with the seattle seahawks, and Daryl Washington the linebacker for the Arizona Cardinals. It is not just football players , baseball players also like, Cody Stanley from the St. Louis Cardinals. Many people use them, but the end up getting caught and suspended from playing. You are basically cheating your way to fame.People should not use drugs in a sport to become better because,These drugs have an effect on having a long term of health, could lead to overdose, and if you get caught you most
Every athlete dreams of becoming the best player in their sport. For most athletes, this dream was created in their childhood watching their favorite player perform at great levels to achieve success. Most athletes will stop at anything to achieve success, even if that means breaking the rules. An athlete whether the biggest, fastest, or strongest, will always look for something that will give them and extra edge over everybody else, even if that means performance enhancing drugs. With new records being broken day by day, I believe performance-enhancing drugs should be legal in all professional sports.
Major League Baseball (MLB) has a big issue when to comes to performance enhancing drugs. The current era of the MLB has not been firm enough with its athletes that use and have used performance enhancing drugs. The first punishment usually doesn’t stop players from doping after they come back. Players such as Jenrry Mejia, Neifi Pérez, and Eliézer Alfonzo are examples of players that have been suspended more than once, proving that the first punishment needs to be stricter. If the MLB succeeds in doing this, there will be some hope that the world of baseball will become cleaner than this current era has been and that athletes have a chance to play baseball purely. Baseball desperately needs to make a stricter anti-doping policy, including
Many Athletes are willing to do whatever it takes to become a professional. One of the easiest ways to enhance natural ability is through performance-enhancing drugs or, PEDs. PEDs are substances used by athletes to increase their performance. The use of PEDs in athletic competition can date back to ancient Greece. Athletes use PEDs to run faster, jump higher and recover at an increased pace. Many athletes are pressured into using PEDs by coaches or managers and are not thoroughly educated the harmful health issues that can come along with taking performance-enhancing drugs. A rising issue is if performance-enhancing drugs should be allowed in professional sports. I believe that in any professional sport, the use of performance-enhancing drugs by athletes should continue to be banned because this rule will help to keep athletes from abusing these harmful drugs.
First, when athletes cheat, they are not pushing themselves to achieve success. Cheating also affects the culprit physically, mentally, and emotionally. Doctor Yesalis, a prominent Professor of Health at Pennsylvania State University, states, "You do not need drugs to have a sense of fulfillment, to feel that you've left it all on the field," Yesalis says. "[Drugs have] taken something that God has given us—love of game and sport—and perverted us" (par. 3). Allowing drugs in sports will not prove who is better at the sport we will just see who is the biggest drug user. This is a great integrity check for the individual because it proves who is true to their profession. This also tests their intestinal fortitude to see if they will be man or women enough to do the correct thing.
Many people believe that drug use in professional athletics is not a serious problem, however it is more widespread and serious than people think. In professional athletics the use of drugs is looked upon as somewhat of a serious problem, but is also very discrete and low key. Every once in a while one might see a prominent figure in a certain sport being reprimanded for the use of some outlawed drug, however this is just one of the many who happened to get caught. Athletes today seem to find no moral problem with using performance-enhancing drugs, or in other words cheating. Also many of them feel that because they are "stars" there should be no repercussions for their illegal activity.
Turning sports into a way of life instead of a leisure activity has generated fierce competition for athletes to be the best at what they do. Having a "natural ability" no longer is enough. One must work long and hard hours to gain an edge on the competition. However, these days, even good training cannot guarantee a victory. For athletes and coaches the drive to be at the top is so great that they look for shortcuts to their end goal: winning. The one who wins is always the one who is remembered in the end; finishing second is worse than finishing last. When this type of attitude becomes predominant, it is not so surprising that they try any and all methods of cheating the system. In this way, doping has become a common practice for athletes to gain advantage on their competition. Is this a practice that we as the general public should accept, or is there something we can do to change the status quo?
