Graduating and getting out on your own is a difficult step to make. There are a lot of things that you have to take into perspective. The choices that you make when you get out of highschool believe it or not are crucial and life altering. Decisions that you have to make are ones like what you want your career to be, where you want to live, and a big decision is buying a house. In making these decisions you have to do a lot of research and things to be prepared. I did a lot of research in hopes of finding a career that I would like and three things that I could see myself doing was owning my own spa ($100,000 yearly salary), managing a spa($60,000 yearly salary), or being an Esthetician. After thinking long and hard about it however, I decided I would like to be en Esthetician. An Esthetician is a person who gives care to skin in a non-medical way. An Esthetician makes a decent amount of money which is important to have if I want to be able to afford a house.
Being an Esthetician would be fun because I enjoy working with people and I am good at working with them. I am also good with my hands which is necessary in my job Making other people feel better about themselves makes me feel better about myself. One set back in that job however would have to be foot fungus. Feet aren?t my favorite thing on the human body especially with any kind of fungus on them. Going into a job that has a high paying salary often requires experience or schooling. I would have to take classes and work hard to get my license so that it is easier for me to find a job. To become an Esthetician it is only required to have at least 17 weeks of classes which would cost under $1,000.00 and at the end of the classes I would graduate with my license in esthetics. I looked at job offers and have came to the conclusion that if I was an Esthetician I would make an estimated amount of $50,000.00 a year. That salary however can vary depending on your qualities and experience.
I plan on living in Long Beach, California and the reason being is I have always had the desire to live near the beach. Living far away I would have to take into consideration transportation. Being on my own requires you to be financially stable. So I figured out that if I had a 2002 Jeep Gand Cherokee La...

... in Long Beach which is a wealthy town. So the price of my house is very reasonable for the area I am going to be living in. It could be cheaper to take out a 20 year loan and pay $100 a month more which would cover the interest but with my salary it is better for me to take a 30 year loan.
I asked myself two questions at the beginning of this project, one being what if I run out of equity on my home with a reverse mortgage? I found that answer on www.google.com and it said that you can?t run out of money and they can not force you to move out of your home. Another question was, when I am old if I have to go to a nursing home what will happen to my house? That answer was also found on www.google.com and it was that if you are moved out for a year or longer then my home can be sold. All of these things and more have to be considered before you even buy a house. So researching and taking your time thinking about every detail is extremely important. You want to be able to afford what you have and still have money to save or spend at your discretion. I hope that one day this bit of research gives me some backing for when I actually do move out on my own.
Ananya believes it is Amir’s cowardice that causes him to commit such a terrible act resulting in his lifelong guilt. She says the reason Amir did not step in and save Hassan because he was afraid he would get hurt.
Because of Amir’s extreme desire to receive the attention and affection from Baba, he begins to subconsciously sacrifice his relationship with Hassan in order to fulfill his interests. However, as Amir continuously matures and begins to recognize his initial ignorant, detrimental actions towards Hassan, he no longer “worship” his father like he did in the past. This causes him to ensure a sense of independence because of his ability to quickly adapt to a completely new, unfamiliar environment and remain adamant on pursuing their own aspirations.
Amir throughout the novel always felt guilty for not sticking up for Hassan especially when Assef raped Hassan in the alleyway. Amir 's guilt during this time made it hard for him to even be around Hassan because he didn 't know how to feel except guilty. Amir started treating Hassan very distant from him and doing things that would eventually ruin their friendship such as stop talking to him, hitting him with pomegranates, and trying to frame him as a thief (Chapter 8). Rahim Khan who played a very important role in the lives of Hassan and Amir felt guilty for keeping the secret about how the two boys were actually half brothers ( Chapter 17) . The secret was discovered once Amir returned to Afghanistan, this was part of the reason Rahim Khan disappeared after Amir left his house to go find Sohrab. Throughout the book Amir 's actions affected how he treated and dealt with everyone else. Amir 's actions often made him feel guilty because he didn 't stick up for himself or others. Amir 's actions such as when he asked Hassan “You’d do that? Eat dirt if I told you too” especially made him feel guilty because Hassan would do anything Amir asked of him (Chapter
Guilt. A cancerous thing, spreading through your body, manipulating your thoughts, working as a deterrent for any type of long term vivacity. As seen in Khaled Hosseini’s The Kite Runner one of the main themes is seeking redemption. We see that in order to seek redemption and earn it, you must have the self-motivation deeper than other people pushing you.
The Great Gatsby presents the main character Jay Gatsby, as a poor man who is in love with his best friends cousin, Daisy Buchanan. Gatsby was in love with Daisy, his first real love. He was impressed with what she represented, great comfort with extravagant living. Gatsby knew he was not good enough for her, but he was deeply in love. “For a moment a phrase tried to take shape in my mouth and my lips parted like a dumb man’s”(Fitzgerald 107). Gatsby could not think of the right words to say. Daisy was too perfect beyond anything he was able to think of. Soon Gatsby and Daisy went their separate ways. Jay Gatsby went into the war while telling Daisy to find someone better for her, someone that will be able to keep her happy and provide for her. Gatsby and Daisy loved one another, but he had to do what was best for her. Gatsby knew the two might not meet again, but if they did, he wanted things to be the same. “I 'm going to fix everything just the way it was before”(Fitzgerald 106). He wanted Daisy to fall in love with him all over again. Unsure if Daisy would ever see Gatsby again, she got married while he was away. The two were still hugely in love with one another, but had to go separate ways in their
As we begin to grow up and come to the end of our high school career we must start to begin to start thinking about what type of career we want to be in. It is very important that a person picks the right type of career for them. Otherwise you will be unhappy with what you are doing and will not enjoy it at all. I am not entirely sure what I want my career to be but I have a pretty good idea as to what type of job it will be. I would like to go into the field of a physical therapist and sports medicine, I fell I will enjoy this more than any other type of career just because I already have a lot of interest in it.
Insecurity and guilt play a major role in the life of Amir. It is evident in this story that
A major point to this argument is when Assef attacks Hassan in the alleyway. Instead of standing up for and protecting Hassan, Amir just watches as Hassan is brutally beaten and raped. When Amir recalled his options, he says, “ I had one last chance to make a decision. One final opportunity to decide who I was going to be. I could step into that alley, stand up for Hassan-and accept whatever would happen to me. Or I could run. In the end, I ran.” This particular passage shows what exactly it was that plagued Amir’s mind until he grew up. Although Hassan had shown a significant demonstration of allegiance towards Amir when standing up for him against Assef, he was not repaid for that loyalty when he needed it the most. Due to cowardice and fear, He decided that the approval of his father meant more to him than saving Hassan from
Hassan and his father move out and Baba is devastated after they leave. Amir grows up and his country becomes so packed and filled by the Russians that he and Baba finally decide they have to flee their home country, and head to the USA. Baba dies of cancer and Amir gets married to a woman named Soraya, who has a shaky past. While all this time goes by he is still haunted with this guilt of what he has done. One day he receives a call from one of Baba’s best friends Rahim Kahn and he says that Amir must rescue Hassan’s son. He heads back to his home country where the Taliban have totally taken over and searches endlessly for Sohrab, Hassan’s son. After he finds him, he finds out that he is a sex slave for a top Taliban official. He later comes to find out that the Taliban official is Assef. He rescues the boy and comes to care for
The big ideas about life in this novel are, the search for redemption, guilt, and self forgiveness. The search for redemption is presented after Amir allows Hassan to be raped by Assef. After he allows Hassan to be raped he believes that the only way he can forgive himself is if he redeems himself by doing something good. He may not have saved Hassan but he made sure that no other person he encountered was going to be raped in front of him. He proves this by, helping Baba save the girl on the truck from being raped by the Russian soldier and also He saves Sohrab from the Taliban and Aseff. This showed true redemption on Amir’s side of the story. This also ties into another theme presented in this story and that is guilt, Amir shows a lot of
Throughout American Literature, women have been depicted in many different ways. The portrayal of women in American Literature is often influenced by an author's personal experience or a frequent societal stereotype of women and their position. Often times, male authors interpret society’s views of women in a completely different nature than a female author would. While F. Scott Fitzgerald may represent his main female character as a victim in the 1920’s, Zora Neale Hurston portrays hers as a strong, free-spirited, and independent woman only a decade later in the 1930’s.
Renting a home is usually cheaper than buying a home. When you rent a property, you don 't have to pay your monthly mortgage dues and you don 't incur expenses on repairing the appliances and home. However, the rent that you pay could increase from time to time. When you have taken a mortgage at fixed rate of interest, your mortgage payment is fixed and will not increase.

Would you give into temptation or would you do your own thing? Being an individual is being single or separate from others. Following the crowd means going along with the majority or doing what others are doing. Being an individual is more important than following the crowd.
My $150,000 windfall arrived like a boon from another planet, one wholly intent upon the happiness of a single inhabitant of Earth: me! A Philadelphia native, sunny California still called my name as loudly as it had when I was six years old and I told my father, “I’m moving to California!”
