Over the last 30 plus years, Apple Inc. has continued to innovate and revolutionize the computer industry. Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak founded the company on April 1, 1976 in Cupertino, California along with a third partner, Ronald Wayne. Wayne was only involved with the fledgling company for a few weeks and sold his shares for $800. Apple initially gained fame for its Macintosh line of computers, with a memorable television ad at the 1984 superbowl. Over the last decade or so, Apple has rebranded itself from a computer company that specializes in computer software, and personal computers. To one that also builds mobile devices such as the iPod, the iPhone and the iPad. Theese three decives have replaces its line of of personal computers as their primary revenue source. Apple also produces software that is designed to work seamlessly with its products. Some of these include Mac OS X operating system designed to power the computers, ios mobile operating system which powers the company’s mobile devices, iTunes, Safari, and others Apple made a subtle change to it’s name a few years ago from Apple Computer to Apple Inc. to refocus itself from primarily a computer company to one that also makes and sell other devices to power our lives. Apple has over come some early missteps to be a fortune 500 company that is changing the way we interact with one another each day. While very successful, there are some flaws that need to be addressed if the company is going to continue to prosper. As we take an indepth look at the company, we will see how they will handle these challenges going forward.

...une magazine named Apple the most admired company in the United States in 2008, and in the world in 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011. Apple was also branded as the most valuable public limited company, pushing past Exxon. The company has however received widespread criticism for its contractors’ labor, environmental, and business practices. Some of this criticisom stem from a series of complaints at factories that Apple and other competitors use to either manufacture components of its products for to assemble the finished product. Most of these factories are in China and are owned by a Taiwanese company by the name of Foxxconn. Since 2006, there have been widespread complaints about treatment of workers at some of Foxxcons factories. Workers at these factories were promised excellent working condiditons, but upon hire it turned out to be something different all together.
