The U.S Constitution started America’s national government, major laws, and assured certain basic rights for the citizens. It was signed on September 17, 1787, by the delegates of the Constitutional Convention. At the 1787 convention, the delegates arranged a plan to make a stronger federal government with three branches of government. The Bill of Rights had ten amendments to guarantee basic individual protection including the fourth amendment, the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, effects, and are against unreasonable searches and seizures. This amendment gives you the right to be protected by unreasonable searches in your home. This is important to our individual freedoms because it gives us the right to be safe from irrational intrusion on our property. This amendment is important because it is protecting us from a lot of things. For example this amendment is protecting us from officials intruding on our private property and searching through our houses for no good reason.
