Trying to get the attention of a single person is difficult, but thinking of a way to do it is far more challenging. The people that have mastered this art are considered as advertisers or graphic designers but the one that really helps bring this all together is the advertising manager. As an advertising manager their job is to catch the “interest… of potential buyers.” by helping create advertising “campaigns.” So why did I choose this career? I chose it because of several reasons. First off, I’ve always like the idea with being involved with advertising, but I wanted to be more that just the one to create the graphic designs. I wanted to do something bigger and then these tests came in and guided me to this career. The tests I took were the “COPS,” and the “strong interest inventory,” both had similar results. Both of them said that my top “themes,” were “artistic…business [and] service.” The “Strong,” said that “marketing and advertising,” were one of my top interest areas and in the “COPS,” under “business, professional,” which is one my top scores, there was advertising management. They both gave me advertising, but the management part was new to me. I then decided that this would be the career I would research and through my research I found what these people do, how to get there, salary, the outlook for this job and what else I can do with the degree that can get me that job.
Advertising is as old as civilization itself. They are forever interconnected. If one changes then so does the other. So as our society evolved dramatically by the influence of technology and social media, so did the way we advertised. With the power of technology, advertising gained the ability to be everywhere at once. These locations ranged from billboards, to projector screens that hang from skyscrapers, to even in your homes in the form of commercials. The evolution of advertising in the modern world is both somewhat disturbing and innovative at the same time.
Not every campaign can turn into a successful one. It takes a lot of time, effort, and critical thinking to create something that can make every heads to turn. Advertising is not that easy since you are not doing something out of your own perspective, but from what you think your viewers will like and enjoy. It is hard because every people had different views and that will eventually lead them into having a different reaction.
In conclusion, the advertisements of today are far more different, with the computer technologies, it is becoming more and more expensive to get things advertised. Television and radio are more expensive these days. With the different variations of popular products people will just get the cheaper product. Getting your product on the market is not as important as getting it there the cheapest as possible, because people are just looking for bargains.
Advertising is a very big thing in the lives of everyone on the planet. Without knowing it we all look at and see hundreds even thousands of advertisements every day. Advertising in the end comes down to trying to make your product seem better than everyone else’s, some may call it survival of the fittest as there is strong competition for billboards, TV times and radio slots. Our lives almost revolve around them, seeing celebrities we look up to with the newest phone, hair product or perfume. I myself look for the newest hair products to try, and the people or things used in the ads definitely influence my choice, as if there is a famous soccer player or a popular actor presenting the product I’d be a lot more attracted to it.
For one, I would search for an internship that gave me more of a direct connection to the work or the people. Working with a women’s shelter could have been interesting, or work in a science lab in one of the universities near by. In addition, I would’ve liked to have made my presentation less rushed and more interactive, as that was something I noticed it lacking when I looked back on it afterwards. I’m not sure if I would recommend my experience in particular, but I think the program is a brilliant one and that it certainly gave me a sense of preparedness as I take my first steps into “real
These are only a few techniques that make advertisements effective. Why? Because it connects them with their audience. In your case, however, these techniques allow you to express yourself better. It also adds more flair and panache to your writing style.
Two years ago if someone would have asked me what I was doing with my life after high school I would have giving a totally different answer then where I actually ended up. As a junior in high school I went through a roller-coaster of emotions as I was trying to figure out who I was and where I was going to be in the next few years. I have always loved being artsy and creative so I began my junior year thinking that I was going to go to either Ball State or the School of Advertising Art for visual communications. However, I was completely wrong. Due to events that happened in my life when I was sixteen and seventeen my whole world changed and nothing felt right anymore. I started to depend on fashion to help me find myself again and that is when my best friend, Nadine Kleman,
The question, “What you want to do after you graduate?”, can stump a lot of people. Majority of people revolve their whole lives around college and what they want to be when they grow up. Some know exactly what they want. There are also others that do not. Hopefully by the time one graduates from high school, they will know exactly where they want to go and what they want to major in.
