Finally, explain what a Cornell Engineering education will enable you to accomplish. Ever since I was a child, I believed that engineering served as the nexus between various disciplines. It harmoniously connected the liberals arts with the natural sciences, and by extension served to practically apply their ideas and notions to benefit society. Carrying this belief, I have always been passionate about attempting to resolve real-world problems by utilizing an interdisciplinary approach. This belief, coupled with my distinguishing curiosity sparked a profound interest for engineering within me. Both, my innate curiosity, and passion for interdisciplinary studies compel me to apply to Cornell University. The College of Engineering at Cornell University, distinctly appeals to me as it employs an interdisciplinary approach to provide an unparalleled and holistic research, and academic environment which facilitates students to creatively and effectively address societal challenges. Curiosity has been a distinct and dominant attribute of my personality, throughout my life. Although many individuals find, "What if...", "Why...", or "How is..." questions to be irritating and infuriating, I have always had much delight in pondering, or simply asking them. When I ask myself these questions they often lead me to astonishing answers. In specific, whenever I learn about a new concept or idea within any of my science classes, I always question its practical application. In my physics class I recall learning about electric and magnetic... ... middle of paper ... ...inary potential in thermoelectrics, and would serve to significantly improve thermoelectric generators. Furthermore, the College of Engineering provides students the opportunity to pursue research accompanied by its distinguished faculty mentors. The scope and breadth of the academic opportunities offered at Cornell University are unparalleled, ergo enabling students to become not only critical thinkers but additionally creative leaders. Due to my innate curiosity, profound interest in engineering, desire to pursue an interdisciplinary post-secondary education, and the unparalleled research opportunities provided at Cornell University, I strongly believe that pursuing a Bachelor of Science with a Engineering Physics major would be the ideal opportunity for me. This opportunity shall enable to harness my curiosity and passion to address the challenges of tomorrow.
