I wanted to say thank you for the hug and the kiss. I needed it! This past year has been an emotional roller-coaster, making it difficult to keep a clear mind. And your brotherly embrace came at a time when I was teetering with the thought is the Army the place where I am called to serve. I know you warned me about drinking the Kool-Aid, but somehow I drank a few cups, okay maybe a gallon. And Based on the evaluation of the others of what makes a great officer, I became upset that as cadets we were all seen as equals, except for those who were generationalist Salvationist. I started to think how can my experience and education be devalued, compared to others (it was and oblivious sign of pride on my part).
and you always keep me laughing, so thank you for that too. And thank you for always making me feel like the most beautiful girl in the world. I do love when you compliment me, even though I try to play it off with sassy comments. I like the way you look at me with this kind of light in your eyes like I make you super happy too, and I hope that never goes away. Also thanks for putting up with me, I don’t say it enough.
I am proud and grateful to call you one of my closest friends. In English we were instructed to write an essay on someone that has had an impact on our life. Trevor wrote about Greg, others wrote about their parents and I wrote about you. I would give this to you, but it is horrible writing. I did call you laudable though, so I think that makes up for it. So for the first of many thank you’s in this letter, thank you for never giving up on me, especially when everyone else had.

I constantly wish I was with you, and the days I’m not with you, or the times I go awhile without seeing you, I feel like a part of me is missing. You’re my best friend, boyfriend, cuddle buddy, and ultimately the love of my life. You don’t even know how much I hate hearing that the both of us don’t know if we are going to be together in a year, five years, or ten. I don’t want anyone else. Every day that I wake up and every night before I fall asleep, I thank God that we met, because without you I would be nothing. Through the hard times you have held my hand, through the rough times you have held me close to you, and through the ups and downs you have stayed by my side. What else could I ask for? When I am sick you tuck me in. You have brought back the person that everyone loved and have helped me learn to be the person I always wanted and knew I could be.
You came into my life and changed me forever. Over the years people have complimented me for being a good mother but I can't take credit for that. You were born good and you were the one who was often teaching me. I believe you are an angel God sent to teach me. You taught me love. You taught me honesty. You taught me how to forgive and how to be strong. You are the strongest person I have ever known and you gave me strength when I was weak. When times were sad and tough I looked to you for strength. You taught me how to be myself. Most of all you taught me about life and how to live.
