I think the author spent so much time naming individuals on both sides, because it made it feel like more of a story with actual characters you could follow. Also, it gave more humanity to the individus, let alone making it easier to understand what was going on.The author may describe clothing and armor in great detail, because it was important to the story to note the difference in color between the groups, and it made a clear distinction between the two groups. It allows the reader to visualize what was happening more too. 2) How does Yoshitsune inspire loyalty (or not) in his men? What qualities are most important in a leader? In an ordinary soldier? Magellan, a portuguese captain during the fifteen hundreds crossed the world through the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean and the Indian Ocean. Ferdinand Magellan did not deserve defense. In deed on June 6, 1944, the little town of Bedford, VA, suffered a tragedy that would never be forgotten. But through the pain and hardship some of officers who leaded the Bedford boys displayed remarkable leadership’s principles. One of the basic functions of leadership is to unite people: bring people together to achieve common objectives. There is truth in the statement, where there is unity there is strength. This essay will offer a working definition of effective leadership principles and discuss the function of leadership as it relates to followers, motivation and power.
...e leadership characteristic that popped out at me was how Cap. John Goodwin was his resilience to overcome all the horrific parts of this deployment and still stayed with it and worked his hardest with no breaks until he was forced to go on that leave to rest and then as soon as he heard something bad had happened, he stopped everything he was doing and got back to his men as quickly as he could it showed how much he cared, he also listened to his men and what they needed and tried helping them all the time. One thing he did not do a good job of was letting Kunk get to him and knock his confidence down and taking care of his own health so he could be awake and alert as company commander each and every day. His soldiers mentioned how weak, and tired and malnourished he looked from being next to the radio 24/7 which should never happen when you are calling the shots.

A leader who makes rational decisions and has followers that see the rationality, should have loyal followers. But, it is also true that a well-liked leader will have the loyalty of the people because they have the power to woo people’s decisions. Because they’re the leader they’re always right...right?
All soldiers, especially leaders, are highly recommended to keep a certain set of values that radiate throughout the entire U.S. Army. They are challenged to keep them near and dear to their hearts and to define and live them every day. A leader is one who takes these challenges serious and abides by
In the play King Lear, Shakespeare presents the reader with many negative views of society, and of human nature. One of the few bright spots in the play is Kent, a very loyal and honest man. Through Kent and his actions, Shakespeare shows the reader the nature of true loyalty.
Leadership is a quality to direct the people but what is more important than an ability to direct is to secure obedience from the audience about that direction. People are a crowd and to persuade and motivate them to go for something collectively is the task of leadership. A leader knits these people into a team and then guides how to act in unity. A leader motivates his team with his action, personality and charisma to follow and perform the task given whole heartedly. However, this role of leadership is too general and seems easy to perform. This task becomes more and more difficult when there is a need of persuasion to go for martyrdom. In uniformed services, be it arm forces, police, fire brigade or any other, the employees are not just like any other employee in civil set ups. Their roles and duties ...
Loyalty in the Military is very important both to your country and to the men around you. As a leader in the military you should have loyalty to those below you. They should know that you would do anything for them as long as they are squared away. You as a leader should have confidence in your abilities as a leader to have inspired loyalty in your men towards you. Dedication to the missions, tasks and the organization you belong to. Motivation and more importantly self motivation is an important value. Anyone can be externally motivated but true motivation comes from within. I value those who have a fire burning inside of them to press on and succeed purely on their own. If someone demonstrates that they never quit on themselves and can motivate themselves to keep going then they are the kind of person who will never quit on you either. Lastly Pride, you should have pride in everything you do, if you don 't then it wasn 't worth doing or it wasn 't the right thing to do in the first place. In regards to Military service I believe that is the most honorable thing one can ever do and is most certainly something you should be proud of. I can only speak for myself but I know that seeing a leader that was loyalty to me and demonstrated the worthiness of loyalty, dedicated to to a cause greater than just himself, self motivated and proud to be that way; would be a leader that I would follow to the
2. The best lessons I’ve learned in leadership came from experience with bad supervisors, learning to not be like them. Being assigned to a higher position or holding a designation does not entitle anyone to be called “Leader”. Leadership is something that is earned, proved through action and investment of time. Coming up in the ranks, I can’t recall a time from Seaman to Petty Officer First Class I’ve looked at someone and said, “this leader had so much impact in my life and

As a growing debate, the question at hand is whether great leaders are born with specific leadership traits, or if one can be taught certain traits over time. According to (Wikipedia.com) the approach of listing leadership qualities, often termed "trait theory of leadership", assumes certain traits or characteristics will tend to lead to effective leadership. I believe that leadership traits such as honest, competent, initiative, inspiring, hardworking, intelligent, and the ability to lead the masses, are some of the leadership traits one should possess. Within this paper, I will examine the overall concept of leadership traits, while observing the traits that were, or can be associated with successful leaders.

One of the most important components of leadership is the leader. A leader is responsible for his or her followers and the overall goal of the group or organization. Leaders are the people held accountable or everything that happens, good or bad. On the other hand, the second major component of leadership is the followers. Without followers, a leader would be worthless. Followers make up the backbone of a leader because they are the masses that get goals accomplished. A leader is just one person, but the number of followers is countless. In order to be an effective follower, there are a countless number of characteristics that allow a follower to be the best they can be. Five of these characteristics include a positive attitude, communication skills, being part of the process, being open to new ideas, and patience.
Leadership comes in all different forms. Junior leaders learn from the good leaders just as much as they do from poor leaders. Defining those attributes of a good leader has been the topic of discussion through many books and professional papers. This is not specific to the military but also entails the civilian professional world. It is a topic that all leaders or aspiring leaders must focus on. An effective leader has specific traits, traits that make a subordinate want to follow them. Traits of an effective leader are being personable, servant style leadership, and leads by example. This is because these traits will construct a relationship built on trust. A leader sets the tone during the initial interaction with a subordinate. That leader must be personable to receive the
