Upon learning about Judaism, I was intrigued with the different holidays the Jewish people celebrate. In particular, I was especially interested in the holiday Yom Kippur, which is a part of the high holy days. The high holy days consist of Yom Hakippurim (Jewish New years) and Yom Kippur. Yom Kippur is known as the Day of Atonement, and is also referred to as “Sabbath of sabbaths,” (Diamant). Yom Kippur is the holiest day in Judaism. I will present this project to the class with the aid of multimedia; I believe this presentation will be most effective, when engaging with several images of the various aspects of this holiday. My objective for this project is to learn about Yom Kippur and present this holiday to the
Judaism is one of the oldest religious practices all over the world. It literally gave a start to two the most popular religions nowadays: Islam and Christianity. It seems that everybody must be familiar with the basics of this religion, though it is not true. The majority of people know only a few attributes or ceremonies that Judaism is using until modern times, such as Menorah (the candelabrum with seven branches), Star of David (traditionally known as the symbol of Judaism) and, let’s say, the Bar Mitzvah ceremony. What people are missing (apart from the associations) is how truly symbolic all of them are in the practice of Judaism. Bar or Bat Mitzvah, for example, present practically the basis of Jewish culture and religion. The idea of how and why it became so important is what we will try to look through.
This report was enlightening and informative. It was amazing to find out information about my religion. The originality of this religion is what makes it so unique from others and special. We have a structure that allows people to do onto God as they want done to them. By giving back through your words and actions the holiday can be a very graceful and godly time when individuals can reflect and try to make themselves a better person. These holidays allow spiritual growth which is one of the most vital aspects of the Jewish religion. Without absolute understanding of gratitude, faith, and humbling yourself before God, this religion is not truly embraced, by embracing these aspects the religion can be illuminated in all ways and seen one of the most beautiful parts of life.
Saint Patrick’s Day is a story of history versus legend, according to randomhistory.com. Saint Patrick is known as the patron saint of Ireland because of his service across Ireland in the fifth century (theholidayspot.com). Without Saint Patrick’s background/childhood, Saint Patrick being a good bishop, or how Saint Patrick’s Day has come to be nothing would be known about him or Saint Patrick’s Day on March seventeenth.
Although widely recognized throughout the world, there are a lot of misconceptions about Cinco de mayo. The biggest misconception about Cinco de mayo is that it is Mexico’s independence day. Cinco de mayo is actually the celebration of the Mexican army’s difficult victory over the French Empire’s army. This entire conflict started in 1861, when the president of Mexico, Benito Juarez, stopped paying interest on the money he owed France. This caused the French army to invade Mexico. But in a surprising comeback, the Mexican army, with just 4,000 men, overtook the French army of 8,000. The conflict started in 1861 and ended in 1867, taking place over 6 years. The end result of the battle was Mexico’s victory of France and keeping their land.
Dia de los Muertos translated to Day of the dead in English is a famous holiday celebrated in Mexico every year on November 1. It is thought that by doing this celebration we are celebrating death but it is the opposite, by celebrating El Dia de los Muertos we are remembering our relatives. In this special day altars are set up with candles lit up and the reason of this it is so that spirits can find their way home. The altar offers spirits their favorite food and in general their favorite things that they used to enjoy when they were around us. The most familiar symbol of this special day celebrated most typically in Mexico and in border cities such as Ciudad Juarez and El Paso Texas are calacas (skeletons) or calaveras (skulls). This ritual was started by the Aztecs about 3,000 years ago [1]. It is believe that on October 31 the doors of heaven open and all of the deceased persons can reunited with their family this is a

Thank you for your service to our country. Each and every day all of the citizens of the United States owe our freedom to brave soldiers such as you. You are very important to our country and we all appreciate your willingness to sacrifice for others. To me, veterans' day used to just be a day off from school. After I learned the meaning of veteran's day, I appreciated it a lot more. Veteran's day marks the ending of one of the largest wars the world has ever known, world war one. Although it used to be called armistice day, President Dwight D. Eisenhower issued the "Veterans Day Proclamation". It stated that we celebrate the holiday each year for all veterans instead of just those who served in world war one. We pay our respects each year
On November 11, we celebrate a holiday called Veterans Day. This day used to be called Armistice Day. It was called this because, November 11, 1918, was the day that World War I ended. This war was known as the War that End All Wars. Sadly, it was not the last war so they changed the name of this day. When Congress changed the name of this holiday in 1954 they called it Veterans Day. Congress named it Veterans Day because it honors people who have risked their lives for you and me.
On this day known as Veterans Day, let us take a moment to remember the service of our veterans, and to let us renew our national promise to fulfill our sacred obligations to our brave veterans and to their families who have sacrificed so much in order for us to keep living free.
Remembrance Day is not just a day. Its’s a day we remember all those who fought. Some veterans have many stories to tell about the war. Some tell us about the trenches and how they had to wake up early in the morning with their rifles ready for Stand To. Some veterans might tell you about the lack of food, or how much they missed their loved ones. Some might tell about losing their friend. All these stories are very hard to take in.

Passover is a widely celebrated blessed religious holidays of Jewish faith, deriving its base from an historic event of the biblical account of exodus, when the Israelites were freed from slavery in antique Egypt. This holiday normally starts on the 15th day of the Jewish month of Nisan, as well as culminates on 22nd day of the same month. After Israelites migration to Egypt they were subjected to slavery and status of a second class citizens for a good amount of time. Israelites were tired of their slavery and prayed to God for their release from the bondage. Their prayers paid off and God sent Moses to the Pharaoh with a message directing the release of the Israelites from bondage so that they can worship and work for Him as their God. Despite of the repeated directive the Pharaoh neglected the God’s message, and refuse to release the Israelites. Their refusal invoked the curse of God, and God responded them with ten harmful
Clearly Saint Patrick’s Day is associated with Shamrocks and Leprechauns because they are both important to the Irish people. And they are both also important to making the holiday become what it is today.
Can you give an example of one thing about someone in the class room that you really appreciate?
The Passover gives the greatest insight in the work of Christ on the cross in the Old Testament.
