Revenge is the act of deliberately inflicting harm towards a person for an injury. Revenge is instigated when a person or a group of people cause conflict between one another. Revenge wouldn't be possible without the evil act of another person. Revenge would be a problem if people had better intentions for the world. These people who search for vengeance are typically mistreated in their past life, so they take it out on those people that mistreated them. In the 1800’s novel, “Wuthering Heights” by Emily Bronte, Heathcliff, a character in the novel, devises a revenge plot against multiple that were associated in ruining his life. Firstly, Heathcliff uses Isabella as a part of his revenge against Edgar Linton. When controls Catherine sees that Heathcliff and Isabella are kissing, she becomes infuriated. She yells at Heathcliff and doesn’t believe that he actually likes her. However, Isabella truly does like him. While she is yelling at him, she blurts out that Isabella is in love with Heathcliff. Heathcliff uses this to his advantage to take further action on his revenge. Later on, Heathcliff and Isabella get married and have a baby. When Heathcliff was younger, he was cruelly mistreated by Hindley. As they got older, Hindley still mistreated Heathcliff and treated him as a servant when he took possession of Wuthering Heights after his father died. After a few years, Heathcliff leaves, then returns to Wuthering Heights with much more power and wealth. With this strength, he takes possession of Wuthering Heights and controls Hareton, Hindley’s son. Heathcliff is mistreating Hareton in a malicious manner, as well as Hindley, possibly even worst than Hindley ever treat Heathcliff. So taking revenge on Hareton will make matters fair and even for Heathcliff for the many suffering years he endured with
