698 Words2 Pages

Books have been around for a long time and they will continue to exist regardless of the technological advancements being made in the field of publishing. Even though it may be proven not environmentally friendly, online publishing is the future of writing with eBooks dominating the book market and the preference of electronic devices to hard copy material. Online Publishing
The definition of online publishing or electronic publishing is the publication of information in a way that can be accessed by a computer, i.e. internet sites, disks…
J. Dron had this to say about electronic publishing, “
There are many ways of publishing content electronically. Bearing in mind that e-learning was defined earlier as primarily Internet-based, this book will not deal with CD-ROMs, DVDs, and other non-networked media, despite their continuing (though waning) popularity as media for electronic games. With the wide variety of mediums of technology, preference is as diverse. Lynn M. Pearce, writer of the 4th of Encyclopedia of American Industries, commented on publishing, “Books sales are driven by a number of factors. Favorable demographics have contributed to sales growth in such categories as adult trade, children's books, college texts, and el-hi sales.”(2005) This can also be attributed to different age groups and their preference to what type of reading material they read from.
