Knowing your worldview is very important, it is your deciding factor morally on where you stand throughout your life, be in politically, or in your spiritual walk. But first what is a world view? Well according to (Sire) it is a “commitment, a fundamental orientation of the heart, that can be expressed as a story or in a set of presuppositions (assumptions which may be true, partially true or entirely false) that we hold (consciously or subconsciously, consistently or inconsistently) about the basic constitution of reality, and that provides the foundation on which we live and move and have our being.” Basically it is the foundation on what we all believe individually and dictates how we live our lives. And as I have heard so many times from Dr. Jeff Voth’s lectures is that, “Jesus is the thesis” (Voth 2016) I will be using my Worldview to address the ethical dilemma on whether Christians should go to war and fight for their country. When is it alright to kill (if it even is) and if it is murder to kill for your country on the battlefield? I will try my best to answer these question with (Sire’s) worldview questions Personally I am a strong believer that we are called to fight and stand up against the evil of this world be they on the spiritual battlefield or the physical one, and that our job is to protect our freedom, be a shield for the innocent, and be Gods tool for saving the lost. But to be the shield and to keep our freedom to go to the utter most bounds of the earth we must keep our freedom and to do that in this world we must fight. (Psalms 144,1) “Of David. Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle;”
