In the United States, the military is a big part of people’s life. The military is not just about shooting and fighting but it is more about protecting the America which many people assume that it is a free country. Yes, Americans do have rights and have the freedom to do certain things but military members like airmen from the Air Force are the ones protecting these rights for their fellow citizens. There are some people that do not know that there are five military branches in the United States. From the five military branches the one that stands out the most is the United States Air Force. The Air Force stands out the most because it is the branch that requires more, physically and mentally, from a person who wants to join. Sense 1947 the United States Air Force has been full of history and is filled with determined airmen helping America through air and land.
Not always was the Air Force its own branch. The Air Force started with just a few members and gradually increased its size after it was named an official United States military branch. Before it was an independent branch, the United States Army had a small division that was dedicated to maintaining air machinery and transportation of equipment where needed. During World War I the number of people trying the join the military rose rapidly and in 1947 Congress decided it was necessary to separate aviation from “on foot combat soldiers” fighting for America (“Factsheet: The Birth of the United States Air Force”).

...aid Mrs. Lopez. This means that the jobs in the Air Force will be more competitive but people meeting the requirements will be able to potentially get a job with them. The skills learned in the military are valued to employers outside the military which means someone can get a job easier after serving. Jobs are high on demand but only there will be jobs in the Air Force for interested people and for those airmen wanting to chance their career more opportunities are open for them.
To sum it up the Air Force is a great career path a person can take. The Air Force is history and a lot of people want to be part of history. Do not think the Air Force is just about flying planes and jets because there is much more to it than airplanes. It teaches many skills, it is a sense of pride for some and what is better than serving the country to defend the freedom we all value!
