“When did you decide to be straight?” “I don’t mind if you’re straight just don’t go flaunting it in public.” “So have you told your parents that you’re straight yet?” These aren’t things we hear ever, but take the word straight in all those sentences and replace it with gay. This is not uncommon to hear. Some people say that they are okay with gays but only as long as they keep their affection confined to the dark closets where you can’t see them yet you make no comment at the straight couple holding hands at the park or the straight teenagers kissing at the movies. The LGBT community deserves equality like every other human being.
“Being homosexual is a sin.” According to the Christian bible “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.” This is according to the Christian faith. Hinduism, which is the oldest practiced religion and is practiced by ⅙ of the world’s population, says little about same-sex love and even less about what should happen to people in same-sex relationships.
